RDA (noob) what type of coil do I use for my mechanical mod?

That's the wrong attitude to have. Everyone has to start somewhere. Better they ask than make some dangerous coil for their mod and battery and blow their face off.

Nothing I haven't made before with a larger gauge wrap, the 42ga nichrome is just difficult to work with for wrapping claptons and framed staples. The fused claptons came out pretty well though. Jumping from 34ga Kanthal to 42ga Nichrome was a bit of a leap. :D Totally different animal.

    Cool vaping storage boxes

It doesn't store everything, but it does hold what I use the most often.

    Do you still drip

After a couple of my tanks became unusable, I started dripping and using a squonker again. Since I started my new job, I use a tank and squonker at work, and at home a dripper and my other squonker.

Hot damn. I was trying something like that a month or so ago, it was pretty much a failure, yours looks so good. P.S. For the life of me, I don't know why thinking 42ga was the right choice for these coils i've been making this week. Oh well, I can order more in a week and a half.

There are two thing that will help with the twisting. First, pliers. If you want to keep from marking marking up the wire, use nylon tipped pliers to twist it back. Second, it will twist less if you loop it around a couple of swivels. Like in this vid - This method works for fused, staples...

    Kanger Dripbox 160 TC

Yeah, other than a couple little things and the tearing of my battery wrap, I do like the device, I hope I made that clear. I am not all about complaining, I worked in CS too much for that. Nah, I just worked in Customer Service too much, period. I just want to switch my batteries after lunch...

    Kanger Dripbox 160 TC

That was originally my plan, but I figured I would give them a chance before I took that step. I figure the battery door issue will go away as the springs lose some springiness with use. But might as well ask, right? Sending an email to Geekvape about a stripped screw on my Griffin got me a...

That would be correct. As far as my battery issue goes, I contact Kanger about it tonight (as well as the wobble due to the battery door) and we will see what they say.

Building for 3 years, still don't understand how to wick!?

I also cut cotton off of the pads to keep the width consistent, tearing them seems so inaccurate to me. :D

The 42 Ni80 is more difficult than the Kanthal 42, just a softer wire. I will get used to it though. And oh man, does it ramp up nice.

I am going to leave it until I replace the batteries (non-ripped) I have in there in a couple weeks. The 25Rs I am using have seen some heavy use and will use USB charging in the meantime. I don't mind taking a spare mod to work with me for a little while. Then I will file the inside if I need to.

    Easy coil builds for noobies

For wrapping spaced coils with Nickel or Titanium, I highly recommend wrapping around a machine screw and then twisting it out after mounted. I haven't done one in quite a while, but here is an old coil on a Lemo 2 deck.

And then I couldn't resist trying a new coil with the Nichrome wire that came today... I will probably make too many coils by the end of the week. :D
