You knew you had turned the corner when...

About a year after my grandfather died of emphysema and about a year and a half after my grandmother quit analogs, she, my mother, and my sister went to a funeral for a distant relative on my grandfather's side. The funeral was in early 2005, almost 3 years before Illinois' statewide smoking ban...

    Embarassing article

There is no tobacco in e-cigs. That's why the FDA doesn't have the authority (yet) to regulate and tax them to death. That's also why there cannot be a federal ban on the sales of e-cigs to minors (only state and local bans). The 1997 federal law only pertains to tobacco products like cigarettes...

A pretty good article in a local paper

Isn't smoking still allowed in designated areas of public places in Birmingham (i.e. bars, smoking sections of restaurants and workplaces)?

Kansas bans minors from possession of e-cigs

Probably not. There's a double standard I'm sure. E-cigs are safe, but if a minor possesses them, he will get fined. However, if a minor possesses dangerous, lethal tobacco cigarettes, he will just get a slap on the wrist. This is why I've come to the conclusion that the government doesn't give...

Ordinance to ban smoking and e-cig use in all workplaces to be introduced in South Bend, Indiana

That is right. Under the statewide law taking effect July 1, smoking (NOT vaping) will be banned in all public places with the exception of bars, horse racing facilities, all casinos, hookah/cigar lounges, and a few restaurants that prohibit minors under 21. Indianapolis has already banned...

Vaping in Public places indoor. Do you do it?

The only time that I believe vaping indoors should be banned is if it's a "distraction" like in certain areas of the movie theater or concert hall. In other words, if using your cell phone is prohibited in a certain area, then I don't mind vaping being prohibited there either. So basically...

My Recommendation: How to Create a Large Cloud of Vapor without Inhaling

Well, as long as you aren't stealth vaping. Personally, I think that creating large clouds of vapor (provided you're not blowing it in someone's face directly) can help normalize vaping indoors.

My Recommendation: How to Create a Large Cloud of Vapor without Inhaling

I didn't really figure this out until I was sitting at Starbucks waiting for my beverage for the 20th time this week. Being the hot dog that I am, I like to draw attention to myself when I'm vaping and get reactions out of other people. Personally, I enjoy normalizing vaping, and I think that...

Ordinance to ban smoking and e-cig use in all workplaces to be introduced in South Bend, Indiana

Well, the Indoor Smoking Ban in Indiana was rushed through the state legislature since Mitch Daniels' gubernatorial term is almost up and he needed to do "one last big thing" before he's out.

Kansas bans minors from possession of e-cigs

I'm against this, although the Kansas has their 10th Amendment right to draft such a law. I know that I'm going to get a lot of flak for this but here it goes. About 2 years ago, Spokane County, Washington banned the sale of e-cigs to minors, becoming one of the first localities in the country...

Vaping in Public places indoor. Do you do it?

Well, I was at the Barnes & Noble in the exact same shopping mall as the California Pizza Kitchen. I was casually vaping while reading excerpts from a book. I purposefully vaped in next to a woman and her children. When I went to the cafe, I intentionally took a puff while waiting for my...

What does 1.6% nicotine really mean?

So let's say that I consume this disposable over the course of two weeks (believe it or not, it takes that long). How many cigarettes is that equal to over the course of two weeks in regards to nicotine? I would like to however eventually find an e-cig with 0mg that's relatively inexpensive.

    Why Move to California........

One thing that I love about Rush though is that he's a rebellious vaper. Here's a link to a story about him vaping in an outdoor bar and how he reacted to customer complaints. Rush Limbaugh Discusses Electronic Cigarette Bans - YouTube

    Why Move to California........

I don't have kids, but I have vaped in front of other people's children before. I was actually sitting next to a boy who looked to be about 7 or 8 years old. His father, who was also there, saw me vaping and had no problem at all with it. It was in a Buffalo Wild Wings. The only person who said...

    Why Move to California........

This was in Lake County, but Chicago itself is very progressive. I don't know of anywhere else in Illinois that bans analog smoking on beaches but Chicago.

    Why Move to California........

New York was the second state (after California) to ban smoking in all indoor public places in 2003. I remember going to NYC in 2004 and the restaurants being 100% smoke-free. I agree with you. They are also very progressive.

    Why Move to California........

I'm very conservative, but I think FOX News is a joke. I watch them for entertainment purposes only. I get most of my news from the Internet or the local newspaper.

    Why Move to California........

Well think about how long it took most restaurants to ask "smoking" or "non-smoking." Smoking sections didn't even appear in restaurants until the early-1970's and laws requiring such sections didn't even exist until the late-1980's/early-1990's. I can see it being a while before restaurants...

    Why Move to California........

When you can experience their ridiculously progressive culture right here in Illinois. Okay, so tonight most of the family was out at a graduation party. They had dinner at the party, and I decided to eat out because I'm awful at cooking. I chose to go to California Pizza Kitchen. So I arrive at...

What does 1.6% nicotine really mean?

As you all know, I'm pretty cheap, and I purchase 21st Century disposable e-cigs. The atomizer says "1.6%," or the percentage of nicotine. Does anyone know what the corresponding amount (in milligrams) of nicotine, and how does that compare to the amount of nicotine in an analog and other PV's.
