    It could still be a rayon density issue, I'm not ruling that out. Like I said though, the insulators in those heads can't handle the heat from dry burning, which is why I jumped to that right away. All I am doing is sharing my experience on the subject.

    The higher numbered settings, like 2000/20K/200K/2000K, are for measuring much larger resistances. The 200 setting is the correct one on most meters.

    There's no decimal because you are using the 2000 setting on resistance, if you want the decimal in the correct place you have to use the 200 setting not the 2000 Again, 200 is the correct setting.
