    I check my wicks with a multi meter to ensure that they are properly oxydised so no real danger of shorting. Up to and including sticking the point of the probs into the wick. And why not experiment ? Provided I take all the preventative measures I can. For me that is one of the fun things...

    Must confess I have removed the insulator from both my ZAP and Zen for experimenting purposes at the moment as playing around with 500 mesh and thick wicks. Early days however suspect they may stay out at the moment but need more playing time to confirm.
