I have used both types of CE2's, clearormizer and steel.
The clearomizers have a small rubber ring around them that would have to be removed.
Edit to add;
Some steel CE2's also have the rubber ring.

Having the spring tension too tight makes it very difficult when it comes time to attach the Kanthal wire for the coil.
The last thing you want, is to have to fight the coil wire onto the posts.

Yes, I used a bic pen and cut the pen to the right length and used that for a guide. I cut the roll pin a little shorter to ensure it will fit in far enough.

Make the air flow ring lock with the juice flow ring when you turn it in one direction, and make the juice flow ring turn by itself in the other direction.

Is the one lower ring for the air adjustment and the upper one for the juice flow adjustment?
If so, I'm guessing you would have to turn both rings when you adjust the air, as to keep the juice adjustment from changing.
Are you going to put a knurl on the outside...
