exactly, but the silica lasts way longer than cotton.. so that raises some questions. like How? and Why?
if you put enough e-liquid through any wick and coil, it will gunk up. but why does cotton have a such a short life span?
one reason COULD be that the most of the gunk on a cotton wick and...
i DIY my own e-liquid and have done so for years.
for my RDA per 15 mL batch i use 2 drops of distilled water and the rest is VG.
you don't need a lot of distilled water in the e liquid to make it wick fast enough to prevent dry hits.. in an RDA.
for something like a bottom coil clearomizer i...
so, some vendors will use distilled water in the e-liquid. nothing really harmful about it.
Pure USP grade VG is pretty thick and does not wick very well. VG is responsible for most of the visible vapor cloud you exhale.
so you have a few options to get the e-liquid down to a point where it...
i never dry burn silica to "clean it". its cheap enough to just toss on another wick.
the two stands of 2mm silica wick on my sub ohm (0.7 ohm) dripper (main device) can handle about 30 mL of flavored e-liquid before it starts to taste funky
how can you be sure?
the "gunk" could in some part be from thermal composition of the cotton.
there is a difference between burning and thermal composition.
1,000°F? oh yeah no problem. some types Amorphous silica can handle temps of 1,600°C (2912°F). what we use for wick can handle temps of 1,000°C or more (1,832°F)
a lot depends on the device. some styles of atomizers are more efficient that others.
the best estimates we have right now are about %50 of the nicotine in the e-liquid will actually make its way out of the device in vapor form. a lot of the nicotine is lost. so that means if your vaping 24 mg...
when i heard the FDA is talking about making all vape gear after 2007 require an application and approval to stay on the market.
i asked my self, "why 2007".
and this graph basically shows that e-cigs were unheard of in 2007.
Google Trends
also this one...
in the USA the factory kanger coils are like $1.50 - $3.00
doing this will save you money in the long run and it only takes a few minutes once you have the process down.
needs to be a torch lighter. a bic will not work.
and yes i torch all the wicks.
if the coil is really dirty you can dry burn it with out the wick in. basically remove the wicks and hit the power button well blowing on the coil. dont let it glow to much but a little is ok. if the coil glows...
did you replace it with silica?
i use a butane torch lighter on my silica. doing this removes anything that should not be on the silica and does not hurt the silica at all. i get the silica wick glowing white and slowly move the flame down the wick making sure as i do it i keep the heated...
