the line of thinking in the past as been that we need to use a mech mod with a high amp battery (20 or 30+ amps) to achieve sub ohm vaping at around 20 or more watts per coil.. recently some vendors have started to come out with VV mods that can handle insane wattage output. they are expensive...- happydave

strange issues with protank 3/itaste v3
your compressing the rubber grommet that holds the Positive and Negative coil leads.. doing this will cause a short, and can damage the coil head permanently only screw the atty down tight enough to make a connection. it might wobble a bit that is "normal" for the devices you are talking about...- happydave

it depends on the "e-liquid" your son is using. most vendors offer a non nicotine e-liquid. on the bottle of e-liquid it will say what the nicotine content is.- happydave

Moving to my first RBA
you need some way to check the ohms. highly recommend getting a $20 DVOM from your local hardware store like home depot. if your mod has a resistance check function that will work, but when dealing with rebuilables a DVOM makes life so much easier.- happydave

using the method where i use a grounded k-type thermocouple directly on the coil and check the reading after i let off the power button i have seen temps as high as 250 degrees Celsius on a 0.8 ohm twisted kanthal dripping atty. but that reading is taken as the coil is cooling down. and it was...- happydave
