    I started typing my thoughts on what's been going on in this thread, but you just summed it up perfectly. For Ted Kennedy, who endured loss after loss, was essentially the loving father of 16 children and patriarch of a family of nearly 90... God bless, and rest in peace.

    There are more than one type of smoke detector, and they have different triggers. Some will go off. Blowing the vapor at a lav detector in a plane has already been tried - it set it off.

    I've been through this, and the fix is easy. Your battery is probably no good, so try a fresh one. If the PT is new, have the supplier send a new battery.

    I wish it were easy, but its not. Dad's 86, and has survived stage 3 cancer, an aortic aneurysm and a blown aortic graft. It's been 7 years, but test now shows the cancer might be coming back. I can't fault him for feeling he wants to be comfortable doing whatever pleases him at this point...

    I've been rotating two 510 attys for three months. They're both still good, and so far testing shows no increase in resistance at all. The only maintenance I do is blow them out and stand them on their heads for a little while before I go to bed.
