I just read that data sheet you listed above on torlon. It says Inhalation: In case the plastic burns and combustion gases are inhaled leave the room and get medical attention. It explains it as a type of graphite infused plastic, even if it can handle the temerature i wouldn't want to vape off...
Just as described, later this week I'm going to buy a good genesis style clone and would like to hear your suggestions. I have been looking at the Smoktech vivi tank, and some did clones all stainless steel (like the idea of no plastic involved). Not looking to spend much and would love to see...
Plus 1 on the great graphic detail on Mister-E's pics. We should ask what he uses to make his pics so we can be as visually stunning with our mods/investigations.
The best alloy for resistance heating wire.
Common names for this alloy - Kanthal A-1 ,Alloy 875,Aluchrom 0 ,...
Maximum continuous temp- 2550 degrees F / 1400 degrees C
Resistance- 17.6 ohm/ft 57.7 ohm/m
Wire Diameter- 0.0071" / 0.18 mm
Wire Gauge- 33
I thought I remember reading...
Mister-E I think you made a good point with saying the smaller the loops the less wire is touching and is tighter making it more stable so they don't overlap. That makes sense now since my touching coil wraps were about 1.5-2mm, I wrapped a large coil and tested the ohms squeezing them and they...
I just ordered some 100 ft. spools, pure nickle nr wire, 30 awg kanthal and 32 awg nichrome. I was getting tired of not having any room to work with the 33 gauge kanthal at 17.6 ohms per foot without nr wire. Plus I'm planning on getting a genesis style clone later this week. I almost ordered...
Yeah it really is a lot easier to start with mild flavors that you'd think could compliment tobacco flavors. They sent me a free sample of a flavor called "huckleberry" and omg I couldn't stand it. It ruined the mixing bottle even after washing, the wick and coil had to be replaced and the tank...
Tried something tonight with great results to add another favorite recipe. I'm surprized I didn't think of mixing it until now since ry4 is a sweet tobacco flavor.
10% Double ry4
5% menthol - 1/8th teaspoon menthol crystal powder (crushed crystals)
10% water
25% nic/vg solution (60mg per ml)...
Mister E, thanks for the well done experiment as my coil touching idea probably made me look like a heretic lol. I was thinking maybe that the path of least resistants could still be the solid wire rather than the miniscule amount touching? I don't know, I was also thinking it also does not take...
The only time I have had grommet burn is with twisted legs. I have had no problem with just running the legs down, also cotton is so wet I think it cools everything down a lot better. Plus I'm using 33 gauge nr, thinner wire seems to cool down really fast. There is nothing wrong with twisting...
I wrapped them so they were uniformly touching instead of squeezing together. The ohm reading reads 2.4 -.6 base reading, same as usual. If it is a bad thing, it's preforming just great. Been using these coils for the last couple weeks so far with no problems yet.
I tried something different. Since I noticed with cotton the closer the coil wraps the better (least in a vivi nova). So I twisted up a wick and coil with all the coil wraps touching together nice, even and straight and it vaped just great. Also had the smallest break in period, tasted just...
Let me know how it turns out :), but yeah my favorite mix is 3-5% commercial tobacco flavor, a few drops of brown sugar, and about an 1/8th teaspoon of powdered (crushed) menthol crystals for a 10ml batch. Something about the robust flavor of brown sugar.
What are your Favorite Tobacco flavors?
What is your favorite tobacco additive flavors? (flavors that enhance the tobacco)
I have been using commercial tobacco flavor which I like and would like to hear which you guys prefer.
I myself have found that a little brown sugar adds a more tobacco...
I have been wondering if the Vision spinner is better or worse than the ego twist. I myself only have the ego twist 1000mah, when I first got it I could get 9 vaping hours off it. Now that I have had it for a month I get about 6 hours off a charge.
I would be interested in seeing what you guys...
Something I have noticed, the higher gauge resistance wire doesn't burn the grommet as easly (using 33). Using cotton also made it less of a threat because of more consistent juice flow to the coil. Twisting the legs is more of a precaution for me now.
It worked, before it was like breathing through a coffee straw. Increased the draw quite a bit and fixed the whistling, I see what you mean though. The internal brass grommet and the external air intake are both 1mm. So if you wanted to improve the draw a lot I imagine boring both wider would be...
Luckyjai, I take it you may not have tools to modify the slots. So I made some measurements for anyone in the same position wanting to go with cotton. After cutting to the dimensions below, wrap a tight coil with very little space between wraps. If you can i still recommend modifying the slots...
