    Yep, its heat resistant so that the coil won't burn it that badly (or cut it entirely). Some are worried about inhaling silica particles, I just don't see a reason to rebuild with it myself. Cotton, bamboo & hemp are all more readily available and IMO way outperform silica in wicking & flavor.
