    I think its best to avoid dry burning atties. As Hyper mentioned soaking in PGA or even vodka. Could probably try vinegar as its acidic & consumable. Dish soap may help.

    You may want to untighten the delivery system a touch. In some instances tightening too much will block the air holes. If you hear a gurgling when you inhale/exhale through the delivery system while its not on the battery, its been flooded, which can cause issues.

    That would be because the gunk on the coils & wick is backfeeding. Nicotine can oxidize but it turns yellow. When it starts looking like used motor oil its previously vaped nasty traveling back down the wick.
