It takes time. Some can just go straight to vaping without much issue, where as others may need a slower, tapering off method. Look at it as a great success how much you've cut back already! As long as they amount is slowly dropping, its still dropping.
You could try higher nicotine content...
Congrats, won't regret it.
You can probably find slightly higher mah batteries but they will more than likely be protected & not imr/high drain, so aren't ideal for the Vari
I use AW as recommended by Provape. The 18490 get me about 6-8 hours of decent use. 650s will get me around 24h & 350s...
What gauge wire are you using & how many wraps?
Seeing as your not using mesh wick it shouldn't short, the only thing I figure is the coil is too low a resistance & the pv sees it as a short.

Running a 3ohm Boge @ 5v right now & it's working great.
Rule of thumb is ohms + 2 = starting voltage
Adjust up or down from there according to preferences.

Ah yeah I hadn't thought about that.
I suppose you'd have to divide the watts in half to see what each respective coil is getting?
The one dual coil carto I tried seemed to have vastly increased TH and much less vapor production. But was using it on a regulated eGo-T so meh, mileage variance.
Its inaccurate when taking into account double coil, wicks that can handle higher temps (porous ceramic, SS mesh, etc) or with larger gauge wire.
But can't expect one to cover all bases. It does its job well enough for cartos & clearos.
I'm not 100% on the dimensions of the batteries (looks like it takes RCA123A) but you may be able to bang one 18650 battery in there and drop the voltage considerably, allowing use of lower resistance gear.
Also seeing as its utilizing Stacked Batteries I'd suggest reading up on proper...
2 ohm @ 6v is too hot for the single coil, & will burn the filler of a carto. Should be less hot with a dual coil, I'm not familiar with them, so not sure.

Welcome to the forums :)
Any idea what resistance your delivery system is? For 6v you'd want higher resistance, 3ohms or higher. That or use an rba setup with the proper coil build.

Mine flooded again the other night even though there was practically nothing in the tank. Vaped the carto for a moment & refilled. Flood.
Said screw it, it was still vaping just a minor gurgle. Went away after a few puffs now it's going fine.
So strange.

No its correct, they run two 3 ohm coils in parallel which halves the final resistance.
To get both coils up to acceptable vaping temp more power is required.
You can also use single coil cartos in those tanks. They just referred to them as dual coil tanks initially & it's stuck.

Silver isn't resistance wire, it's not going to heat up as the electricity isn't coming upon resistance.
Its used in place of long leads to the coil, prevents hot legs.
