    I've had to clean the inside contact twice now (using the pen & q-tip method somebody thought up awhile back). It'll start acting funky, flashing the light just like when it first gets power. If I back the cap off a few degrees it usually fixes it until I clean it.

    ^ Agreed. Not a clue actually. I'm kind of doubting it, as I think they are made in Texas. But yeah, no idea. Thanks :) I much prefer the look of the 'Vari with them, the tapered end isn't bad but when the AGA is hanging over it looks wonky.

    I find rebuilt VVNs work just fine. Stock heads blow, not worth a cent. Device shouldn't require an entire rebuild out of the box either.

    Sounds like a wonky connection. Make sure the resistance wires are in proper contact with their respective poles. Also make sure the center pin is making good contact with your batteries 510. Last time it happened to me the 510 connections weren't meeting up properly.
