A lot of really good things have come out of this thread. Super X started it long before any of the You Tube guys ever heard of microcoils and most new wicking material got good tests and common sense reviews here. The only disagreement that has amounted to much has come when somebody wrapped...
I run simple microcoils, singles and duals, bottom and top fed and that keeps me happy. Haven't felt any need for anything more extreme so I read this thread but don't post much.
ETA: I only run NETs and occasionally unflavored.
I have to agree with Idaho on Rayon. I did not notice increased vapor production or greater juice consumption with it. After three days my throat was just raw but cleared up in a day after returning to KGD. Same results on second try after one day. IMO some people are just sensitive to...
Results from extracting uncased tobacco have not generally been good but here is a source: Whole Tobacco Leaves by the Pound, Buy Tobacco Leaf, Bulk Tobacco, Fronto Leaf, Cigar Wrappers, Binders, and Fillers
Bill hit the nail on the head IMO. Sweetness of a juice does not necessarily indicate the presence of sugar. I got some confirmation of my suspicions about sugars in tobacco casings from a vendor post. Sugar molecules are much smaller than one micron so you could repeatedly filter through one...
I've spent nearly as much on bottles as tobaccos since I started sharing my stuff! If anyone comes up with a good deal on bottles in quantity in the US, I'd be up for a group buy.
Mike, the lower sugar level in cigars makes cigar extracts inherently easier on coils than pipe blend extracts given comparable particulate filtering. Three micron filtration will definitely give you good performing juice. Good luck man!:toast:
Three very tasty blends and outstanding first try on her part! It's interesting how often the tobacco blend choices of our group of home extractors have overlapped. With thousands of blends available the odds are against it happening.
Thanks for sharing your latest creations. I am steeping them also and look forward to getting to them. I'll gladly send you some Great Dane extract or the 1/2 ounce (approx.) of the blend that I have left.
I'm not a fan of overly sweet tobaccos but some very nice sweeter, flavored tobaccos have been home extracted lately. clnire has extracted several including Hearth and Home Signature Grandma's Kitchen which I'm really enjoying. I just finished an extraction of Missouri Meerschaum Great Dane, a...
Wow! No internet for a few days and days and I had a book to read to catch up!
Mike, I've extracted a few tobaccos that had already been done because I liked them a lot but most of the time I'm looking for something different and previously untested. Given the vast array of good tobacco...
Sorry I missed your question earlier.
Like Paul answered, I've sampled along the way during extraction and felt like I didn't really get the best flavor til 30 days or so. I'm experimenting with longer soaks to see if there is any advantage. I'm hoping for a little cleaner, brighter, more...
Room temp maceration of one ounce of tobacco in PG usually yields around 90 ml of extract for me. Mixed at 20%, the extract will make 450 ml of juice. If I vaped nothing but that juice, it would take me about 75 days to vape it all but if I smoked that one ounce of tobacco I doubt it would...
