I haven't bought a new atty in so long I can't remember since my RM2 has worked so well for me, but I saw the Plume Veil clone by SXK for $20 and figured why not.
I only put a single coil 8 or 9 wrap of 26g NiChrome and holy crap, two puffs has me floating. Time to cut my nic content down...
Just installed my new contacts and am loving it.
I may have to do a few cosmetic mods, this RM2 is a bit too shiny compared to the one my friend lost. Brass looks so much nicer :)
That and my 2.1 could use some love from Mother's aluminum polish ;)
Edit: Has anyone seen these Purple Efest...
Man, I forgot how awesome everyone here is. I would have definitely checked back sooner
I just put my order in for the upgrade kit and managed to find an old ego I had laying around.
Thanks a ton though guys, vape on :)
Man it's been a while since I've been on ECF.
Glad to see the upgrade kits are finally rolling out; shame they're sold out at the moment though. A friend of mine lost my Caravela clone and RM2 so I'm digging around in hopes I find the last rebuild kit I ordered. Hopefully they come back up...
Haven't been around these parts for a while, how's everyone doing in micro-coil land?
Just 7/8 wraps of 26g Nichrome metering in at 0.53 ohms. Now to rebuild my 2.1 while I wait to hear about my pins...
I actually found a clear o-ring while digging through the pile of stuff that is my desk and it seems to fit quite nicely with the RM2 and when I screw it in, I can't even see a gap between the RM2 cap and the base.
Good thing too because I think I lost a few. I'm sure they'll reappear...
This just reminded me to take some measurements for an RM2 hybrid idea I've been tossing around.
Now that I have taken the measurements of the 510 positive pin used in the RM2 and adjusted them to what I will require (aprox: M2.3-0.4 x 20 with a 1 mm bore), I will need to figure out how I can...
Just to do a quick report in:
I roughly measured out 10 ml worth of Amaretto pipe tobacco in a beaker and added 10 ml of VG from a syringe.
I mixed it vigorously to completely saturate and then placed it in the microwave for 5 seconds and stirred it while the beaker was semi-submerged in an...
I got a Beta invite the first round but have been too caught up with DotA2, TF2 and CS:S along with school work and side projects to try it.
Will definitely check back to see what you think though.
Hope you enjoy it, Xobe.
Fair enough, I'm also curious how a hot/boiling water ultrasonic bath would affect an extraction. Obviously it comes in handy for expedited steeping, but I wonder if it would be enough to also help extraction along in much the same way.
What I may do is two small sample tests of the microwave...
So I just stopped by the cigar shop on the way back from class and picked up two house blends: Amaretto and Butter Pecan.
I got two ounces of each so I have a little room to experiment. How much more effective is the slow cooker extraction method over microwaving?
Hah that'll do the trick. Mine's not loose or anything, I just want to ditch the O-rings if possible. I'm just a little weird sometimes, always making more work for myself than I need to.
Good thing I've only got $14 :P
I need to rummage through my drillbits and other stuff for an adapter and vice. The chuck only goes down to 1.5mm and I want to use a 0.8mm bit to bore through a screw salvaged from an AGA-T2 that seems to match the threading of the RM2's positive pin.
Thanks, I've been toying with the idea to adjust my 510 connection so that I don't have to use an o-ring to get it exactly where I like my RM2. I'll probably hold off for now until I've got all of my other projects sorted out.
I don't know if anyone makes Teflon buttons, but what you could do is buy a rod of teflon (I assume you can get it in rod), get it attached to a drill, and grind it down to size.
