Gdeal, do you happen to have the buttons, rings & top cap separate on sculpteo? My order for those extra parts just got canceled on shapeways in the guise of customer service. I'm really hoping that they don't randomly cancel the top internals that I ordered.
Edit: N/M found my answer on...
Finally got my first one completed...well, I have yet to glue down the charge board. But it lives and breaths...and vapes. Sanjosse, i got a few of your older cradles and yes I had to trim off the end tab, but this works great with a DNA40. I wouldn't mind trying out the new cradle for the...
I went to ebay and they don't look unavailable to me. This same vendor sells lots of 25 also, but I'm sure there are others around here that could use more bottles. Is this the link you used?
6ml LDPE bottles
For this build you won't need to tap the enclosure for the 510 connector.. For other enclosures the length of the base may not be long enough to put a nut on the 510 base. In those cases you would have to tap the hole so that the 510 would be secure.
I went to harbor freight today cause the wife wanted to get some stuff (oh darn!). I found a small hemostat that turns out it works very well to hold the nut for the 510 when screwing that in to the top cap. a standard size doesn't quite fit into the notches in that nut but this smaller size...
I can't resist....well certainly get the one with the cutter. That brings the price of the Hakko down to oh $89.99 at least! J/K you already know my take on this. ;)
You understand that with these additional top caps you may have created a device capable of being a fashion accessory. When the iphone was developed they had thought that anyone would only want one, but quickly found out that many people bought 3 or 4 just because of the color differences.
This is too funny. i was afraid that I messed up the internal part of my top cap and was just thinking It would be nice if we could order this piece separately. What a great idea! I'm going to order 4 of these
Waiting for my DNA40. It should be here Friday or Sat. But I almost have everything ready to go...wires all tin'd, switches soldered, just need to drill out the 510 hole for a FD and clean off some of the anodizing. But once I get the board(s) it'll be a quick build...I hope.
Did you...
Well, 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. Almost done with my first mod, actually to the point of putting the top cap on the mod when everything went to ...it went bad. After 5 or 6 mistakes or mishaps, I'm giving up for the night. I'll repaint tomorrow and then start again later this week...
Now I'm stoked. I got the internals done for my first GDNA and waiting for the paint to dry on the button. Since I used a DNA from a previous mod and considering that I heated it up pretty badly, I wanted to see if it still fires up. I put a battery in and connected the internal top cap and...
I picked up my enclosures from the mailbox today. Unfortunately, 1 of the enclosures is dented and some of the anodizing has been scratched off. I'll open a ticket with FT
Interesting find. yea, max current for a DNA40 is 16A, so you'd probably still need 2, as the tip rating is awfully close to that. Rmin/max is good and a 5 Second trip wouldn't be too bad.
Although I've never heard of it, it is possible...it's an electronic device. Without knowing the exact internals I'm not smart enough to say exactly what the failure mode(s) might be. But why would you ever want to take a chance like that? The down side is magnitudes worse than the cost of...
Uh, i wouldn't want a lipo without some fuse protection. It's not just for reversed batts...if something in the DNA or wiring shorts out you'd lose a face or parts thereof.
I don't know for sure, but I've heard of a couple of cases where the batteries were reversed and no mention of the...
Ok, I thought about the fuse some more...a fuse protects the source...i.e., the charger. At $1.19 why bother. You bought like 5 or 10 didn't you? Also, the input to the charger is 5V @ 1A, 5W. there probably won't be much excitement with that. You fuse the batteries because a shorted...
