I lung hit. Just pull the air flow screw out of the 91%. I also found to build the "volcano" coil / "dragon" coil / "chimney" coil directly over the air hole in the chamber creates really good air flow. You can find the volcano and dragon coil build on here and the chimney one on Rip Trippers...
Glad you guys responded with some ideas. I was thinking about it off and on throughout last night.
My initial thought is that I should be reading the coil from the bottom to avoid the vapor all together. This can be done by mounting an IR window to something and make that the "atomizer...
So I found this pretty interesting based on yesterdays messing around.
Yesterday the coil was a dual .4 ohm 28g Kanthal wrapped at .81mm ID.
Today the coil is a dual .8 ohm 28g Kanthal wrapped at .5mm ID.
So here is my simple analysis of this. The temps are basically the same, but...
It depends. My higher end systems all have adjustment for transmission. Mainly for IR windows. I would have to have a sample to know. It is pretty quick to figure out. Even then the close quarters of the target would cause issues potentially because the acrylic is still going to emit IR...
Yeah ditto. It is a blast.
You are correct with the point IR radiometer. They are super inaccurate, mainly due to the fact that most of them cannot adjust for emissivity. I can make something that is 300C look like it is 100C or 500C just with a simple setting. I would also think that +/-...
Testing with a draw brings in some new, and very hard to overcome challenges. First and foremost is I need line of site for the camera to work. IR doesn't "see through" anything. It picks up IR energy via the three forms of heat transfer (convection, radiation and/or conduction). The huge...
ID not sure, just used a small screwdriver. Guessing 5/64. 4 wraps. .4ohms. KTS+ with an RSST. I forgot to take coil voltage just because I was goofing around. I am doing a lot of IR stuff for another thread about wire temps. It is in the main modding forum. These are just initial tests...
Just goofing off so far.
It was on a mech device. Battery was not fully charged by a long shot. Guessing 3.3V or so at the coil. Battery probably in the 3.8 range.
On the Mundys coil, it is .5 ohms. .8mm x .1mm spun and wrapped the Mundy way.
Okay, simple little test using a dual coil set up that I have. 28G Kanthal at .4 ohms.
For now, this temp is just a base line. No settings are done on my part to adjust for certain parameters. However, it should be fairly close.
The file created with these short vids are almost 1 gig...
I thought you guys only cared about the wire temp.
I only read the first couple of pages and the last couple of the thread.
Juice will create another variable. Juice also creates an entire other discussion, much of which is user perceived. For example, some people want a hot vape, cold...
Its an RSST, so it is a tank on bottom with vertical wicks. I drilled out the original refill hole to make it a wick hole. Then, drilled out a new refill hole on the opposite side of the negative post. Yes, I prefer something with a tank so I do not have to constantly drip. Although my dual...
Okay, turned it horizontal and re wicked it. Ran cotton through the middle then wrapped the cotton ends around dual SS 500 mesh wicks. Wrapped one strand of cotton yarn around the whole mess just to keep it together better. Taste is amazing and no dry hits.
Now I only have one more problem...
Its hard to tell what is going on in this image, but it is .8mm.1mm Mundy's magic wrapped 4 times around ceramic wick with a SS inner core on an RSST. Comes in at .45 ohms. Initial taste isn't all that good, but I am going to give it a few days to work itself in. I took a pretty bad burnt hit...
