$10 for 15 is pretty expensive. I was looking around for insulators for my AGA-T2 and found these, according to the comments people have used them successfully with the RSST as well: AGA Series Positive Post Insulators - 10 pack - Kidney Puncher
I'm not sure about the fill plug, I haven't seen...
You want it to be pretty uniform, but as long as the wick inside the coil isn't too tight you can experiment a little. On my IGO-L RDA I cut the end of the cotton closest to the negative post short and leave the other end long enough so that it barely rests on the deck. That way the cotton will...
Try rolling a thinner wick, it will swell when it gets wet and if you have too much inside the coil it will start to choke off. I've had that happen several times.
You'd be better off ordering one fewer Protank and investing in some good batteries. As Train said, that's not a piece of equipment that you want to skimp on.
I don't really have a recommendation for brands, but if you aren't sure exactly how big you want your air hole to be you're probably going to want to get some sizes between 1.0 and 1.5mm. 1.5mm or 1/16" (very close to the same size) is too airy for a lot of people. I have an IGO-L that came with...
It's working great for me. When I first built it I used way too much cotton and it wasn't wicking properly, so I used a lot less and it's vaping perfectly. I'm on tank number three on the same wick with no drop off in performance at all.
I only have a tiny amount of cotton in the tank itself so...
If the coils are in parallel more coils equals lower resistance. If you wrap two 2Ω coils and mount them in parallel the total resistance of the build will be 1Ω.
Nice job.
When I started building MC's with cotton I put a lot of cotton in there like you did. The problem was that if I wanted to change flavors or accidentally scorched the wick and needed to replace it I had to throw away a bunch of cotton that was still soaked with eliquid. It seems...
Wrapping a microcoil with 32ga Kanthal is going to be difficult. Personally I found it to be really hard to get the coils touching with wire that small; 30 or 28ga for me is much easier to wrap tight. Plus with 32ga you'll need fewer wraps in order to get it in the ~2Ω range, and even fewer if...
If the torch is able to heat up the coil enough that it glows red it's not that. What gauge wire are you using? Also, what is the diameter or the screwdriver you are wrapping around? Sorry if you posted that info earlier and I missed it.
Also, are you annealing the wire before you wrap it or...
I'm using a $15 GE digital multimeter I found at Wal-Mart. It seems to work just fine.
One tip though, there will be some resistance built into the unit. (Maybe there isn't any with more expensive meters, but there is with mine.) I was a little off on my first coil because I didn't think to...
This is where I have mine positioned, it's just barely above the lip of the deck:
I also have it extended out from the posts so that it is just inside the lip and close to the air hole.
It turns out my build from earlier on my AGA-T2 (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/416271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th-138.html#post10697766) did have too much cotton in it. I started using it regularly as my main device a couple of hours ago and ended...
On my AGA-T2 I ended up wrapping a vertical coil and cut the cotton off at the same level as the center pin, and the cotton is hanging about 2/3 of the way down the inside of the tank. Seems to be wicking very well, but it's producing so much vapor that I'm not chain vaping it. When I rewick it...
No problem. I will say that I didn't notice any odor at all from the cotton balls I purchased right out of the package even though it says on the back of the bag that the contents are "Organic Cotton whitened with hydrogen peroxide." I didn't try vaping with them before I boiled them, so can't...
