You are correct, yvilla. In effect, it's saying that 100% cessation of smoking tobacco is required in order to ameliorate its effects and that switching 100% to e-cigs has the same effect as quitting smoking altogether. This is a very good thing, and a very powerful argument for e-cigs.- hifistud

This "They're not cigs" thing....
Chances are that once e-liquid sales reach critical mass they'll be taxed fairly heavily anyway - they'll have to replace the income from ciggy taxes somehow, and I can't see them using booze as the scapegoat. Seems hypocritical to me, but what can you expect of any government? -

Well, I had the first meeting on the road to where you want to be yesterday, next one should be with the professors pitching for the study. The MHRA has already ruled that, as far as it's concerned, e-juice does not constitute a drug or NRT, as such, and therefore does not fall under its purview... -

Seems our colonial cousins are hell bent on calling electronic cigarettes anything but electronic cigarettes (as can be seen elsewhere on this system). I'm not sure what to make of it, frankly. I don't really see what the problem is - but, as I've alluded in another thread, I've had a few... -

Well, since we, in this politically correct world, now use Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation Systems, I've given up announcing what I'm sucking on - and instead Just siddoon for five minutes an a blaah (five minutes and a blow...) -
A Questioning Demeanor
IF there is exhaled nicotine present (and it IS only an "if") it's no more harmful to those around you than the caffeine in a coffee. Had we all got our nicotine fixes in a nice mug, with a frothy top and choccy sprinkles on top, instead of in a cancer stick, nobody would conflate cigarettes...- hifistud
