and here is what WileE was talking about -- Empiremods Bridge Free LR510 1.8ohm
about 3 drops max to avoid flooding
and pick up some plain VG to clear flavors between (its available in our walmarts here in the pharmacy area (over the counter)
I vape a very sweet desserty eliquid @ 7.5 watts and I get about 20-25ml before I need to replace/rebuild protank heads with silica wick and about 15ml with cotton wicks
sorry about the problem
can you take a picture of your battery and tank so we can see the thread ends on both (so they are not attached to each other)
and a little more concise description of what is happening (they screw together but won't fire, they wont screw together at all. etc
use this...
congrats on making the switch David.
there is a UK forum you can look through for sites locally to buy your eliquid and once you get 5 posts before 25 after the hour you can then post there also (posts include answers on this thread and other threads)
and welcome to the ECF
Its a basic telescopic mechanical
positives - telescopic so you can use 18350 - 18650 or an 18350 or 18500 with a kick module (never ever stack batteries in a mech)
its cheap enough
negatives - its an unregulated mechanical mod which means you need to be an experienced vapor with a background...
does the head from the new one screw into the suspected fake?
It may still be usable to a certain extent as a back up if the real iClear heads fit it ok
This is the least expensive one I found that will give you adequate performance (get 2)
Katana Kit
the ones that look like cigarettes are under powered and do not perform well

my biggest tip for newbies
Backups! - you do not want to be caught with a discharged battery or a dead clearo tank and then decide to buy a pack of cigs.
once you have backups to your main PV
get more backups :)
then get extra eliquid once you find one you like, now don't freak out and buy...
Make sure you are getting the MVP2 so you can check resistance and shorts
the most complicated are the genesis style RBAs (AGA-T, RSST etc) these require a lot of fiddling to keep working properly
the easiest are protank style coils (not protank 3 dual coils)
here is a simple how to video...
you do want to have air flow across your coil to have it produce vapor properly
break off a toothpick in the hole
tape
toothpaste
all temporary methods as most people end up drilling out the air holes larger for more airflow
I switched to DIY pretty early in my vaping history due to cost and have a great time experimenting with new flavors and combos - it costs me about 4 cents per ml to make my 0 and 2mg flavors
Read all the stickies in the DIY subforum
Just my cause I'm cheap!
Lots of people use 100% vg in clearomizers and tanks with no issues. In protank style atomizers you can remove 1 or both flavor wicks to aid in wicking or you can use distilled water to thin out the eliquid
my recommendation would be protank or mini protank
started at 24mg in April of 2013, currently at 2mg and am happy to be mostly rid of the nicotine addiction (I can go hours and hours without a vape now and am happy with that)
I have discovered with mine that I need to replace the cotton and dry burn the coil clean a little more often than I thought (about every 15ml - probably due to the much better airflow) I would but it is extremely easy to change the wick on it and the extra flavor and flavor is well worth it...
