    cobra wicking hole

No tilt! No drill! Look up the Wire Rope wick thread. Wire Rope for Wick?

    cobra wicking hole

My Cobra wicks like a beast - NOT drilled. It all depends on your setup, juice, how you vape etc.

just bought a cobra (clone) from fast tech, did i make mistake?

I have one of these clowns (ok - clones). It most certainly is NOT even close to the original Siams mod Cobra. It can be a bit of a fiddle to get the setup right, but If you do, I will perform not bad. The screws (allen head) are small and the positive screws are also tiny. The wick hole is...

    Anything Better than Penelope?

Could not agree more. I have my Spheroid and this is by far the best vape that I have ever used. Silica, 30g wire, 1.3 ohms and the taste is soooo clean and the clouds are fantastic from a very short draw on this device!

    Muted flavour with thicker wire?

Tight coils on 28g wire has been great for flavor and vapor for me. I try and get all me coil to touch one another and the heat time is really improved than spacing the coils out. When I fire my coils for the first time - I use some pliers to squeeze the coils together. Give it a try!

    Best RBA clones?

I would agree with most of the other posts on here - the RSST is a great device, especially for someone new to RBA's. It is less prone to hotspots/ shorts compared to the AGA T2 because of the isolation. You will be able to try different wicking options (ceramic, ss mesh, silica etc), the AGA T2...

What's the importance of oxidizing the wire before vaping?

A quick burn of the wire help to anneal it and make it more workable when making your coil. When the coil is made I usually give it a full 4 +burns (holding my fire button on my Provari until it times out) to get rid of anything that can give a bad taste. I even drop a little juice of my bare...

    Point me into a direction??

2mm silica works ok with the AGA T2 (Cobra also and both have a smaller wick hole compared to newer RBA designs). You always have the option to drill the AGA T2 wick hole (Cobra is made from titanium - hard drilling and not much room to expand the wick hole), if you would like bigger. Just...

    Wire Rope for Wick?

I think shortyjacobs did start this craze. I would personally like to thank him also. I have been using the rope with great results for over a week (thanks to bigv69er). I can't believe that more people have not jumped into this thread and checked it out for themselves.

    Muted flavor with ribbon kanthal

What type of ribbon wire are you using? A1, A or D etc. Also - I take you are giving you wire a couple of burns before coiling?

    New to gennies, dry hits?

When you say dense wicks, how dense is it? How much 500 mesh did you use. I typically (for a solid wick) use about nearly 4inches of mesh that I roll tight (takes a lot of rolling and strong fingers). When you say wick fits snug and loose - how much? I am able to drop my wick into the wick hole...

    Muted flavor with ribbon kanthal

I have not conducted any type of scientific study or research. All I can give you is opinion (humble) of my own experience and taste - I have found ribbon kanthal has improved taste and vapor production of my e-juice. I also have noticed that the large (0.8mm +) ribbon is slightly better than...

    Muted flavor with ribbon kanthal

I have used all 3 wires on my IGO L also. I would say that the Ribbon 0.5 works best for me on the Provari. The 0.8 works better on any of my mechanicals. Make. sure you are not touching wire to the base or overlapping coils, this can mute the flavor.

    Cobra O-ring question

Got mine from Alba Vapours There are in the UK but the shipping was pretty fast (from there). I think it was 6 or 7 working days.

    does everybody boil their mesh?

I don't boil, but I always wash my SS mesh with warm water and dish washing liquid. Just want to be sure that there is no oils or leftovers from manufacture or handling!

    Taste -- can't desribe

Metallic taste is a result of a short (most of the time). Make sure that are not touching the bottom of your tank. Make sure you have oxidized well at the wick hole (you may have rubbed some oxidization off when you re-installed your good wick) and the obvious of make sure your coils are all...

RBA's and Flavor, need some help!!

Hard one to reply to DubbyaH. All is can say is that if you are not getting the flavor, then there is obviously something wrong with your setups. Hard to pin point this because to have stated that you have tried pretty much everything. When I first started RBA's a couple of years ago, I to had...

    Point me into a direction??

I find the Cobra to be a tighter draw than the AGA T2 (which I prefer myself). The Cobra also gives you a lot of options for setups (more holes). I have tried the majority of different setups. I like a U wick using the XC116 (also like it with SS mesh) and usually wrap 32 or 30 kanthal. I would...

    AGA T2 Question

Mostly out for me to! But it really depends upon your RBA and the wick/ coil setup you have produced. Straw wick usually means 'screws out' for me and solid wicks usually 'screws in'. The juice is another variable:- thinner PG based juice would tend to look for leakage, whereas VG based juice...

    Point me into a direction??

I am not giving up on you yet - Cobra!!! You can order the 5ml GLASS tank. Use XC 116 (same setups you would use with Silica). The AGA T2 is a decent, lower budget device (I thought that you were looking something a bit more pricy) and I have used silica with it with OK results. The AGA T2 does...
