    I was looking at the gasket, that is the only thing I can figure could be the problem, I managed to get the centre pin out and look at the gasket, it seems to be looking good but maybe when it gets compressed down by tightening the atty somehow its causing the short. that's the only thing left...

    never thought about that, I have a extra digital multi meter missing the point off the red wire I can use that to make up a stand and a ohm reader all in one, awesome idea thanks for turning the lightbulb on in my head
