    Wrap the coil around a jeweler's screw driver, drill bit, wide gauge sewing needle or the like, then thread the cotton through the coil. The cotton will swell and fill the coil when it gets wet.     4 Hmm.... Good point on carto filling. Though I do doubt they soak it in hydrogen peroxide first. But still... Either way... Safe over sorry. 20 cotton balls are currently on their second round of boiling.
