Got this picture from someone on my ship... they did a little post processing on the photo in photoshop when they were done, but this is a picture of my ship from the bow looking aft. Thought a few of you might be interested!

Is there an advantage of using cotton-balls as opposed to cotton yarn?
I've not used cotton balls yet (why does drying take so long!!!) But what I've read puts cotton balls/rolled cotton above yarn/thread in the wicking category.

Yarn does wick really well... But there can be a... taste until it breaks in.

I bailed on yarn months ago when I had a slight immolation issue. Purely my own fault, but I think I am ready to use cotton again.

Seems like it would be a bear to wrap...

Wrap the coil around a jeweler's screw driver, drill bit, wide gauge sewing needle or the like, then thread the cotton through the coil. The cotton will swell and fill the coil when it gets wet.

ETA: This is a very short and incomplete description of the process. You can pm me or hit up YouTube for a more detailed method of cotton wicks and (micro)coils.
