O don't know what this XC-116 is....but it's nice stuff. I torched the crap out of it....It needs it. You could see the black crap getting burned off. The flavor is better.....I think? It looks like they changed some things from the previous version....So they might not work. I had them laying around so I figured I'd throw them in. They might still work if your using 32 kanthal. -

Yes....I tapped out the center pin from the top....It should come out with the insulator in one shot. The pin is partially threaded into the insulator. -

I took it apart, chucked the base on my lathe. And took off whatever was needed. I used a Boge Carto as my gauge and then took a hair more off. Your gonna need a 510 die to correct the threads. I got mine on ebay.
