BOTTOM FEEDERS= a place for everything modified and/or custom made

You've just summed up the "circular logic" theme of every argument I've ever had with my wife ever and I fell into my own BS...excellent point(s)...though as much as I can appreciate the regulated "like" I just don't see it as a requirement, could be just me, maybe you're right (most likely...

I was actually going to ask if you could post a pic of what you did when you mentioned it a couple posts back...I basically just do the spring tension mech sw. cause it's easy and I'm lazy... but that's getting a little boring and I've got a couple boxes by the mill nearing completion...if you...

BOTTOM FEEDERS= a place for everything modified and/or custom made

No doubt...and big money on the line as well...you know, there's a very good reason why bf/reg'd mods barely exist, there's just no market...if the Sun boxes where flying out the door, mod houses would be tripping over themselves banging them out and China would be simultaneously cloning them...

BOTTOM FEEDERS= a place for everything modified and/or custom made

Agreed, I'd consider buying one myself if someone did it (and so would 30-40 others, maybe)...but for what chip?, and for how much $...I think that in itself makes for far too boutique an industry to tie up machinery, invest in the CAD programming time, proto typing to make sure everything fits...

good point...which brings up a question...does the possibility exist to go direct to the manufacturer?

BOTTOM FEEDERS= a place for everything modified and/or custom made

Exactly...I don't even take my reg'd mods out of the house anymore...granted I drive them pretty hard but when you're out for a day with your DNA30 mod and it decides to play the "a re-boot per vape" game because of some silly little reason from a cold joint/bad contact to a dead tact sw. (tell...

Well stated...it's gonna be interesting for sure...mods are easy to build, the big ? is where I'm going to continue to get USP grade nic.

While I agree full on with Rob offering up his product at varying levels of completeness for the modders, I'm really glad he doesn't follow every whimsical trend of the vaping biz...the guy could probably use some downtime. Sure, reg'd mods are becoming "Trendy", this current ridiculous...

On a standard Reo Grand the switch is up top, it's a mech. .. that is a VV Grand, the switch was on the side to make room for the chip... Sent by Tapatalk...sorry

Well done!...for a first kick with those tools?, pfft, nothing wrong with that...I still have a couple of my first mods back from my carto days...built with a drillpress, vice and far to liberal use of a glue-gun, meh...as long as it works and you're happy that's all that matters... ...and...

Cheap/easy mech switch (if anyone cares in a world of regulated mods)

Beryllium copper is tough to find, I ran into the same issue...for me, the local commercial electronics store is forever blowing out things, hence my first couple 25A DPDT relays...at a couple bucks a leaf I couldn't pass them up, especially with those big silver plated contact points ...that...

Pfft, FT...I pretty much gave up on them when a lot of their stuff started to appear on ebay, already on conus soil in the hands of US retailers...sure you pay a bit of a mark-up, but at least you'll get it...FT is too slow, I'd order stuff then actually forget about it (sometimes not even...

Nice job on the lay-out, but I fear that square bottle bursting a seam and taking out your DNA...and I'd feel really guilty as I was the one that started the "Rob should get Square Bottles" thread  You know...I have an appreciation for both heft and lightweight...I've built some of...

...using it as a hammer, a temporary anchor for the boat, a testing parameter for truck scales, a substitution for grabbing a few reps at the gym and protection from gangland large caliber crossfire... Man!, that thing is awesome thatguy...that's gotta' be a satisfying chunk of metal to vape...

They typically bond the contact leafs in like that...and the plastic used is typically very hard, and to your advantage, brittle. If you have a pair of sharp small side cutters like these, the plastic will simply snap off and done.

I do the same thing when I mod my RDA's to run hybrid...I've found that extra surface area of contact does as good a job as a tight tolerance press...it may be that capillary action doesn't like threading ???

    Best Budget BF atty?

+100! on the brass... My vote goes to the RM4...imo this RDA can do it all from tootle along with a 1.8 ohm single with a fairly tight draw all the way full open with what ever insane coil configuration your batts (and spring) can handle (btw, I recommend the allen screw replacement)

    RM4 Question [AFC]

Simple solution (I've got lots of these, some do it some don't...) take off the ring, wrap some tape around it so it doesn't get damaged and either put it in a vice or with a big enough pair of pliers give it a slight squeeze...just enough to put it slightly off-round...it won't spin as...

I read through the thread you linked and I think it's fair to say you and I, while both enthusiasts of the hobby, approach it from completely different angles. I have to say I sometimes struggle with my chosen approach ...I surround myself with cutting edge tech, I have for years, but for...

Ok...these are rough but hopefully it helps make sense of my ramblings... This is the exploded view of the dual 18650 hammond 1590 box, the lexan plug that will be used to simply displace the silicone (note hole drilled into the plug centered in the future squonk hole cut out (I was a little...
