    Just floating the idea...

...I took some time to think about this and I've come to realize that my enthusiasm to share what I think are my successes may have gotten the better of me. As always, thanks for the kind words Rob...but I believe SITS's is right, I have put you in an awkward position by suggesting what I...

    Just floating the idea...

There's always at least one lawyer :D I just realized that this IS Rob's forum (being in he suppliers forum and all...call me an idiot for not even checking that and suggesting a change to something that doesn't even belong to me ) Oldbroad and ed101z make some valid points...I think...

    Just floating the idea...

That's would be breaking one of the cardinal rules...peeps personal creations are not (nor will ever be) for sale...that's just wrong in so many ways...to extend that argument, Rob doesn't sell Buss automotive fuses peeps jam in place of his spring?, or pos. contacts made from brass feeler...

    Just floating the idea...

"Whatever I make I always vape one of my Reo's in the process"...I'll admit to on several occasions to taking a frustrated lung full from one of my Grands while looking at my current Frankenstein laying on the table saying to myself..."see?...this is what you're supposed to do!...what is your...

    Just floating the idea...

As a proud owner of 7 Reo products (and at at least that many of self-built non-Reo mods, at varying stages of completeness, however all bf's), I'm proud to be a member of the Reoville faithful. Having said that, there's been a number of non Reo bf's posted here as of late, and depending on...

Reo VV - A major modification

Even better...and that would make dremeling all that much easier with less mat. to cut through :toast:

Reo VV - A major modification

Since you started the whole "wood inlay" thing I've been pondering (and being off on sick leave, I do a lot of pondering...and spending money, my wife loves that part )...in my musings of doing veneer before going with brass I struggled with how to handle the thinness of the door (I...

    Shapely Grand

The creativity of the peeps in Reoville never cease to amaze me... ...we need a calculus wiz who's good with permutation calculations...given the dimensions of an aluminum box and it's function, there must be a way to mathematically express the maximum number of unique modifications that can be...

Reo VV - A major modification

I was wondering how you were going to pull off veneering the inside as well, the inside of a Grand is as roomy as an Italian sports car...even if you did manage to pull it off (of which I have no doubt) aside from giving it a super-glue soaking varnish treatment, juice would make it look like...

Reo VV - A major modification

The bezel may sit flush with the surface (a flush mount, as opposed to a surface mount) but unfortunately there's no such thing as a free lunch with these switches...the typical SS anti-vandals we all use measure around 20 mm + from top of the dome to the screw ends...a flush bezel just means...

Reo VV - A major modification

Just in the hour I've spent messing with this thing...such a difference over a DP/X-Y table...not aerospace grade results by any stretch but (but then again, are my vernier calipers?)...but I can tell already, more than enough tool for a Property Manager/weekend wannabe machinist...

No more messing around, if I have any hope of pulling any of my modding dignity out of the fire against the like of you guys I had to get a bigger gun...

Reo VV - A major modification

...and I have no problem with him retro'ing existing for what is undoubtedly a very niche market...FD has already provided better than anything out there in the 510 market...so I'm just sniveling like a little girl  Though having said that...I know it's a serious paradigm shift for some...

Reo VV - A major modification

You're going to veneer the interior too?...that'll be fun... On the FD conn...is it just me or is FD missing a pretty big fundamental requirement of team bf?...what's with the grooves in the top of the 510?...I mean, obviously in the world (long since dead I'll add but...) of bottom air RDA's...

Reo VV - A major modification

Brilliant job Steve...I feel your pain on the choice of epoxy and the effect...it's like what do you do?...maybe the finish choice will negate the steel epoxy effect...maybe you need to put it down and go do something else for a bit cause you've been staring at that thing for days and it's...

Cheap/easy mech switch (if anyone cares in a world of regulated mods)

Rolf, you certainly don't need my help :D...I seem to recall you're the "make your own molds out of foam and lay carbon fiber over it" guy...how's that mod working for you?...that was a nice build. I still think about that mod...I have to do that one day

    MECHANICAL REO Woodvil

Before you get all excited and call dibs...this is pretty utilitarian compared to Turbo's DNA 30 chip, Solid Zebra (new door, round hole), recessed side switch (batt side),, will take flat's or buttons, It's a based on a Blemished Woodvil shell (and there's a failed ball tact that's been...

    MECHANICAL REO Woodvil

True that...btw, good news (better yet, confusing news)...my DNA Woodvil came back to life...before just hacking out the vestigial organ I had the presents of mind to touch all my joints with the iron (cold joint?, though it seems odd, cause it did work)...and what do you know, it works as...

    MECHANICAL REO Woodvil

I prefer top buttons 100%...I'm a guy, when I'm not vaping it's in my back pocket...I have a few side button mods but they rarely get out to play...they phantom fire in my back pocket, in the console of my truck, in my briefcase, etc....those side buttons...they're no good I tell ya :D

    MECHANICAL REO Woodvil

You went with the side button eh?...It's a Woodvil tradition, I totally get it...not that I can't wait for the big unveiling or that it's any of my business but I'm curious...did you put the switch batt side or 510 side?...I'm pretty sure you stuck with convention so you went 510 side...but...
