I've rinsed all of the ones that I've gotten before using just to be sure there was no primer. Also, double check the threads so you don't risk damaging a battery. As far as the juice, I use a home mixed 70/30 PG/VG mix in mine with no trouble so far.
What device are you using? At 2.4 ohms you should probably be using a regular 510 battery, definitely not 5volt or higher.
I've not used the XL myself but in the E2 mega thread a lot of them are using the PTB mod to improve the wicking.
Get some VG and mix in the 24mg. VG is slightly sweet and can mute some flavors a little. Try mixing in just 10% or so and see if that smooths out your juice. You could also try getting some Cotton Candy or Marshmello flavoring from Loranns and see if that help. Both of them can smooth out...
I've used a couple different revisions of them and have been mostly happy with them. The flavor and vapor is great with the juices I use. I haven't tried the XL yet, but probably will fairly soon, but as long as the regular ones last, I'm not really sure that the XL will be any improvement...
I've helped a few friends get started, in fact, I'm delivering a kit to a friend this morning. I try to watch for good deals on parts, mix a couple of bottles of juice, and build the kits myself. That keeps it pretty cheap for me and they get a good starter and someone to help them get it...
Try covering the air holes where the atty connects to the battery. Then try cleaning the threads, they may be gunked up a bit. If neither of those help, blow fairly hard from the LED end and see if any juice comes out the connector. You may have a little juice leaked in it. 801 attys are bad...
When I use carts, I mostly use blue foam. In L88B, 510, and 901 carts it works the easiest for me and wicks the best. For my 801, I use a polyfill plug and a straw. It takes a bit of trial and error to get the correct size worked out and that can vary by what juice you're using. Read the...
I use Volcano attys on a nicostick quite a bit. They run a little cooler but have great flavor and TH. I dip with it when I'm at the computer. I also carry a Volcano with me most of the time as a second PV. I mod the cart with blue foam so it wicks better and use a juice with no VG to...
I tend to just bite on them too, just seemed odd to suggest it that way, but it definitely works. And most of us have our teeth with us most of the time, can't say the same for pliers or a hot paperclip or needle.
One way to make a cart fit a little tighter is to heat a straight pin and poke a couple of holes/dents from the inside of the cart where the cart meets the atty. Or what I usually end up doing is just take a pair of pliers and crunch the cart a bit, just enough to warp it slightly.
I have a Magma 510 atty that's been going strong for 5 months so far. Rarely clean it, have never dry burned it, just rinse it with PGA when it's starting to draw hard. Bought a dozen of them so if the rest are like this one, I'm set for quite a long time.
I made a version of the Puck with one. It works ok but it does get hot. I don't expect it to last forever, but I already had the part in my junk box so didn't have to go buy one.
I've been using the 801 for a couple of months now and really like it. The BE112 atty is my favorite for the liquid that I use. I haven't lost an atty yet and have only used one 801 and one BE112. I get all of my parts at Vapor Kings. The clearance batteries are a very good deal.
I do agree with you. I started out with a 510 (and some odd ball disposable) and it didn't really work for me until I got my Volcanos. The combination of the two is what worked. I discovered that I am a situational smoker, sometimes how the PV feels in my hand has as much to do with it as the...
Some of us like the super-minis as a second PV, sometimes a small PV with great flavor is what we want. And with a little planning the battery issue just really isn't that big a deal. I usually have a Volcano with me in addition to a box mod, 801, Magma, etc. I personally don't care for high...
I can't tell you anything about using one of these on a eGo's voltage, but I can tell you how these work on L88b batteries. They friggin rock. Still only get about 30 minutes on a batt, but it's a rocking 30 minutes. Vapor is great, taste is close to dipping on a Volcano atty. These tiny...
