    Hercules Rebuildable Atomizer (Ithaka Clone)

Instead of editing my post - I'm going to take responsibility and leave it there so others can learn from my mistakes - I was over tightening everything - so much so that I sliced the bottom o-ring down at the bottom by the 510 connection I have also used a small plastic washer under the wires...

I agree with the ekowool statement also - great in my drippers but won't wick at all in the herc/term setups Anyway - I was telling Dw I lost a small plastic gear looking washer that was between the center post and the bottom of the ceramic assembly and it was shorting out - so after I hooked...

Yes our nuts are slotted so that you can position the slots open or closed - the replacement imeo sent out to ithaka owners was about half the length but dw and others just used a dremel to shorten it - I haven't modified mine yet either

Actually I retract the statement I made when posting the video - he had no idea at that Point in time about the slots and ceramic nut - I leave my slots open to drain down back into the tank because with auto feed on - the coils are always saturated and if I close those slots juice will spit up...

Very good video from bishop showing the cause/effect of the ceramic nut placement with channels open and closed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZM4EpOiHxc&sns=em

I forgot to add - with the ceramic nut closed all overflow was not able to drain and I was getting spitback in my mouth when vaping since that extra juice had nowhere to go . I could literally turn the herc upside down and juice would drip out of the mouth piece . I then changed the nut to open...

Ok now I see - makes sense - but even though you want me to think of it as a single coil - it's mathematically calculating as a quad coil build 3ohm x 2 for each wick - 1.5/2 = .75 What I'm saying is to get more wraps you just use 30 gauge to get 5-6 wrap and keep the resistance at 1.5 so you...

I see so I guess that's a highlander coil from bishop heals - he's always doing that in his videos . So literally you are running quad coils -4 wires. You get 6 wraps per coil because 2 different pieces of R are wrapping around the wick I gotcha

What's the difference between running 4 wires - 3.0 ohm each at 1.5 ohm a coil / 2 to make .75 oh Vs just running 2 coils at 1.5 each to get .75 ? More surface area on the wick? I feel like that would drain more battery to fire up 4 wires instead of 2 . Maybe more coverage for more flavor ...

@dw did you leave auto feed turned on at the channels or off ? When u say two wires per coil - do you mean those highlander coils ? So it's 2 pieces of resistance wire connected to 1 piece of NR - on each side ? So NR - R - R - NR and then u wrap the coils and make sure the wires aren't...

Come on dw u can't keep us in the dark - what did u do different ? I popped a coil and need to rebuild and would rather hear some of your pointers before I build the coils

The way I see it - if you're vaping sub ohm or heavy VG it's another point of entry for the Wicks to get saturated to ensure there are no dry hits . I understand that some see it as a useless feature since you can just open the mouth piece - but what I'm saying is it can't hurt to have another...

Yes of course otherwise id have nothing to compare it to - and who am i to jump to conclusions :-) Ask my wife and she'll tell you the complete opposite Anyway with feeder closed and slots closed at the ceramic - my 50:50 did not have issues wicking - but I had to open the mouth piece about 5...

I guess the auto feed is good for thicker juices cause it works well for me All search mrkrinkle - that's why you couldn't find it

My wicks are 3mm with 2 strands removed so they are more like 2.75 in the channels . Doubled wick at the coils and then I remove the excess of the doubled wick where the coils stop - and I'm at 50/50 pg/vg. I have basic feed open and mouth piece open about a mm also

I wonder what's different in our setup that I can fill with my basic feed holes open and you can't Some other variable is there we just need to find it

    Hercules Rebuildable Atomizer (Ithaka Clone)

Wait you are talking about the basic feed or the nut in this post ? I leave my basic feed on since I got it - I doubled up the Orings on the 510 post so now it doesn't warp when screwed in to the base

Short mode attack of the clones 1.5 mil in short mode - but if you remove the top cap and fill a little more you can squeeze In 2ml And thanks for the explanation on ceramic Nut

Wait a second I just realized I think I put that nut in upside down The flanged piece (wider piece) should be towards the bottom of the collector cup? With the thin threads facing up? Or does the piece go into the middle of the ceramic like a screw ?
