    Bases & Crafting 'Thicker' Juice

A couple of my recipes require high quantities of alcohol-based flavoring. Though I can breathe them & such to remove any lingering alcohol scent/flavor, the final juice is still water-thin, and since I favor carto-tanks this is often a problem. I am already mixing 100VG. Are there any...

    Removing Alcohol from E-Liquid

My real problem with alcohol-based flavoring is that it is so thin; even the final juice is water-thin... some of the mixes (which I love) are hard to work in carto-tanks... that is an alcohol problem I would love to solve...

    Removing Alcohol from E-Liquid

I do not favor heating - though it is quicker, I have concerns about how it affects the strength of the flavoring. Leave the juice uncapped for 2 days, that will remove most of the alcohol 'flavor'. I prefer to mix the juice before doing this, so that the actual flavoring can house itself in...

How Much $$$$ Are You Going Through Vaping?

I have calculated my DIY out to about 16 cents / ml. When all is said & done, with cartos & other costs factored in, vaping costs me about $10 a week.

Does anyone ever plan to quit vaping?

Yes - several decades from now, when my eyes dim and the world grows dark, and the spinners sever my final thread, then I shall quit vaping. Of course, after I ascend to Valhǫll I expect to start again, for Odin possesses mods of gold with batteries that never die, and his endless well of juice...

Should I steep before or after I make my mix?

OK, question: I have heard that air, heat, and light degrade nicotine, but does anyone know how severe this is really? How fast, I mean? Like, if I let a mix breathe (in a dark, cool area) for a day, will it noticeably affect the nic?

Favorite flavor vendor for DIY ?

Hahaha, accidentally double posted, can't figure out how to delete... so here we are. Good luck & happy mixing!

Favorite flavor vendor for DIY ?

Well, IMO each flavorist has good flavors and not-so-good ones. A lot like juice vendors; the answer is dependent on what specific flavor you want, not vendors themselves. You asked a good example there: "who makes the best honeydew", or, even better "what kinds of honeydew flavoring are...

    Extracting flavors from Shisha?

Tasty Puff is for flavoring cigarettes, cigars, and... similar things. It does work in e-liquid though. I have never tried shisha extract but certainly it would have a tobacco element. I imagine shisha extract would gunk up an atty real quick too, but again I have no actual experience with this.

So.. anyone been pulled over yet for vaping?

Never been pulled over specifically for vaping, but cops, bouncers... etc. often ask me about the rig when I do come into contact with them. For the record I have a SB, which is big, shiny, and doesn't look anything like a cig or cig-style PV. What is interesting to me is that, though many of...

Obligatory "spend the extra $20 & get a silver bullet, it's worth it" comment.

    First DIY attempt, seeking opinions

Concentrate on things that are easy to work with and have broad mixing potential. Toasted almond is a good bet

    Do You Vape In Bed?

Yes - takes me awhile to fall asleep so... in bed I used to drop burning cig cherries on my chest all the time; my robust (and undeniably sexy) chest covering would prevent painful burning, but the smell was awful & sometimes left weird patches... glad that's done with. Now if I leak juice or...

How much percentage for flavorings is too much??

It depends on the flavoring - some top out at 5%, some never top out. I mix NF butterscotch at 50% and it tastes great. If I could I would just drop nic in the flavoring itself & vape away, but it would be too thin to work in the tank. Health may be a concern - flavorings are the true unknown...

Starting out my first DIY juices.

I use plastic mostly & haven't had any problems. Some flavorings & such supposedly cause problems with the plastic, but I do not use those & thus cannot offer comment; citrus & cinnamon supposedly degrade the plastic over time. Some say that plastic affects the flavor. With glass, look for...

How much do you mix at one time?

I usually mix in 30ml batches. Except butterscotch, my true ADV - that I mix in 120ml batches. Currently have one 120ml bottle in service and another steeping. I keep a 30ml dripper bottle of the stuff & refill it from the big batch. A heavy vaper using mostly one flavor will go through that...

    Virginia Firecured

I know the owners - they are good people; haven't tried any bluemist DIY tho. I don't think they make flavorings in-house, but idk who they source them from.

does it really make a difference???

    1) a mech mod can still do higher voltages than 3.7, based on the batteries you put in it & whether you stack them. 2) Good mech mods are very durable; my SB can take way more damage than the best eGo. Some people don't care, as eGo's are easy to replace, but some people like longevity... like...

Anyone found a honey that taste like honey?

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad flavor; I use it sometimes. But if you are really looking for an accurate natural honey taste TFA isn't it.
