The fuses are Buss fuse. I doubt quality is a problem. At this point I'm thinking maybe it's because I tightened down the fuse too hard, causing it to bend, which I suspect might weaken the fuse. This might explains the variations of experience people have. Perhaps that why some blow and some...
Apparently, some people are having trouble with the fuse blowing. For some, it's working fine. This is perplexing to me so let's spend the next couple of days trying to figure out why, and then I can take the appropriate action.
For those of you who haven't fired up the mod yet, I hope you can...
If you guys want the coil spring, PM me and I'll send you a set, free of charge. That way you don't have to trim the underneath the battery. But your voltage drop will be slightly higher.
I guess I should've included a 15A fuse rather than 10A. Those fuse are made in Japan so it's possible they are made to blow at exactly 10A. I've always thought that you can go over the limit a bit without having it blown.
The included O ring is to be used with your atty, to form a seal between the atty and the 510 connector, otherwise juice will leak when you squonk.
Usually, when you buy a bottom fed atty, it comes with such an O ring. PG has low surface tension and will seep through the smallest clearance if...
Can you look at the fuse? If the fuse is broken, you can see it. There is a curvy wire inside and it'll be broken if the fuse is blown.
What O-ring are you using for your atty? I have an 1mm O ring in the spare parts bag that you should use. If you use thick O rings it might not cause the atty...
I always unscrew the bottle. You need to take the bottle out of the mod (the tygon tube will bend), and then you can unscrew it. I never had to pull off the bottle to refill. If the bottle is sitting straight in the mod, then it would be more difficult to unscrew.
Most of it is just things you guys already know, like mod safety. And then some assembly/dis-assembly tips, and then explanations about the changes I made, and why. A diagram took up almost a page. It's not that bad.
I've learned that what's obvious to one person might not be very obvious to...
Finished the 3-page very detailed instruction manual, got everything all packed and ready to go. But couldn't make it to the post office on time. They close early on Sat. I will get this all shipped Monday at lunch. You will all get the tracking # on Monday.
Going out Saturday. I just finished assembling all of them, just now. Still have to print out the shipping labels, and instructions, pack them, match the address/colors. Gotta work during the day tomorrow.
They are all sandblasted, that's why the surface is grainy on all of them. It's just that the un-anodized one has a matte finish. I guess anodizing adds a "glaze" to it. From the feel, the un-anodized has the texture of unglazed pottery. It also has an almost whiter hue than typical aluminum...
