Update: I ordered a backup for my Tesla and was amazed that the battery door on this one was solid as a rock. Comparing the two I was surprised to find that there was a minute defect in the casting of the one that was dropping the batteries. Right at the slant (see pic) there were tiny burs...
Okay, this is making more sense to me. Based on what you're all saying what is going on is something between a pop and a sizzle. A sizzley-pop? So long as I'm not destroying the coil or coating the inside of my atty with some indelible gunk that ruins it, I'm okay with it. Thanks very much guys.
Yeah, the spitting is a thing. I just added a Ming style drip tip to get around that bit. But with the engine nano I am noticing I get the juiciest flavor and biggest clouds when the thing is popping and wondered if I was hurting something.
I have seen multiple threads complaining about atty popping and how to fix it, but why is the popping bad? Does it mean that the atty isn't functioning right or is it a personal preference thing?
