IMHO, *HIGHLY* unlikely that will ever happen. Coming from a manufacturing background (I ran a side business making "premiums" (stupid free things given away with products for promotion) in Chinese factories, and made trips to the factories to do business, inspect the lines, etc.), I know the...

Do you put it on the charger often, for short periods of time, or do you let it fully charge each time? That's odd. Are you on v19?

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

Have you ever even LOOKED at your SXmini's battery meter on a full charge at high wattage? It disappears. That's a 1V drop, at 60W. What do you mean by "realistic"?

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

One thing you're both not accounting for is that the battery will not be 4.2V under load. At 200W, it will have about a 1V voltage drop (sag), so a fresh charge would be about 3.2V and a 3.3V cutoff (as found in YiHi's other mods) would actually be about 2.3V under load. Using those new...

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

Bingo. You nailed it. Yihi have a following, much like ProVape. Nobody cares about cheap Chinese companies. Yihi have earned a better reputation - the best of the Chinese companies perhaps. The decision to allow 200W on 2x18650's however is hurting that reputation. Will *I* still get an...

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

True... bucking would give ProVape about another 2% efficiency. Nothing to get too excited about IMHO. Then again, ProVape engineers probably wouldn't be happy until they hit 99% efficiency ;) There isn't much fear from what I've seen - it's the inconvenience of not being able to change the...

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

The VT200 has a 1300mAH LiPo, so that's 14.43WH, compared to the Radius' 9.25WH, so that's a significant difference. But, considering the difference in wattage, 50W on the VT200 should last about 7% less than the Radius at 30W. Given that the Radius is deadly accurate, I'd bet the VT200 is not...

...such as YiHi and P4Y's newly announced 200W dual 18650 mods? :) Depends on the design of the mod. Some have little to no venting, and turn into pipe bombs when the battery vents. There are plenty of photos on images.google searches of missing body parts. A good design will have plenty...

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

    Nope, that's not how it works. The 900mAH rating on the LiPo is TOTAL. What's important is converting to watt hours. 11.1v x 900mAH / 1000 = 9.99WH (LiPo as in most DNA200's) 3.7v x 2500mAH / 1000 = 9.25WH (18650) 3.7v x 2500mAH x 3 cells / 1000 = 27.75WH (3x18650's in Reuleaux DNA200) And...

Technically, they already have. The IQ feature detects total circuit resistance, but most of that is internal to the battery. If you notice, you'll always have a lower IQ on a larger battery. 18350's will always have the best, and 18650's always have the worst. With the existing IQ, they...

It's not a mode, and it doesn't just "kick in". Current starts rolling off slowly as the battery starts getting full. It'll literally go from 800,799,798...003,002,001,000mA. ALL lithium chargers behave this way, so in that sense, it has trickle charge.

Totally unnecessary - we know the answer. But, if there needs to be more proof, I've already measured the current of many USB devices, and the Radius while charging. ~815mA, just like ProVape said. There are no chargers that can charge at 800mA - the closest is the Nitecore at 750mA. The...

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

Yeah, the Radius wasn't designed to have the battery changed every time it goes empty - it was designed to charge the internal battery. The design was that the battery was user-replaceable, not built-in and non-serviceable. Some of the new mods coming out that have LiPo packs are not...

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

People believe the Radius has a slow charger, but that's not the case. Most USB mods charge at 500mA - the standard power output of a computer USB port. The Radius charges at 800mA - significantly faster, provided you use an external charger, as a computer will still only provide 500mA. Some...

Back to math... Most people getting DNA200 mods don't realize that the 11.1V 3S LiPo's included in most of them have far less power than a single 18650! You have to convert mAH (milliamp hours) to WH (watt hours). When you do that, you see just how under powered those LiPo's really are. The...

I have a large set of screwdrivers - some that might make you say "oh my" ;) None of the blades are wide enough to fit the 510 adapter "coin slots". Excellent suggestion from several people here - I hadn't tried that yet. Makes sense the beauty ring is acting as a locking ring, and doing a...

That's a great idea, except what led me to removing the tank in the first place was an overcurrent error. Evidently the tank was tightened down so far that it was shorting out the 510 connector. So in my case, putting the tank back on the Radius doesn't do me any good.

That's what I did, only with pliers. The problem is the metal used to make pennies is very soft, and mine are all bent and have chunks missing where they fit into the grooves of the P3 adapter. The P3 adapter is fine - it's the coins that are all bent, twisted, and have chunks missing now.

Official ProVari Radius Thread - Part 2

I officially hate the P3 connector now. I've had the P3 to 510 nut lock onto atty's before, but this time it's seized onto my tank. I've destroyed several pennies and dimes using vice grips and pliers to try to get it off, and no luck. I didn't tighten the tank any more than it takes to close...
