It's burrrrrrr chilly in Tampa as well. Why it's a frigid 60 degrees, with winds of 8mph gusting all the way up to 15mph from the NNW. It's tough living down here, but someone has to do it! LOL
I'll think about you while I'm plowing snow this week.

I relation to a 200w mod 50w is ¼ power.

My son hits a dna 200 at much higher watts and battery life is a major problem for him.

Today is actually my first day at 50w. I did it just for kicks to be honest. Turns out a really enjoyed it. I prolly won't stay at that level honestly, just not me. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun.

At this point lets just say I see the attraction.

Very thoughtful of you! Yes it is!!

I'll be in Largo in a few weeks.

We haven't actually had any real snow or cold this year so its not gonna be the same.

I'm a half hour from the Tug Hill though and they are to get like 6 feet of snow tomorrow.

Its a very important half hour.

Yup, NC south of Raleigh/Durham...wind was howling today.
You're never going to believe this... Just as soon as hit the Post Reply button, the phone rang and it was my Mom down in Franklin. Yes, she said it's windy down there to...

Charlie's twin brother lives in Buffalo, NY. They've had very little snow this year. But last year when they had that 7 foot avalanche, they live in that 1 mile swath of land that get's slammed, year after year. So, I get the very important half hour distance thing.

Hopefully, our unusually warm winter will continue when you're visiting Largo.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

I have a sister who lives in Port Ritchie (or something like that).

A few years ago, I flew down to Tampa for a party. In the airport, I walked up to a girl and asked, "Where does a single guy go in Tampa for a good time?" She replied, "Believe it or not, the party place in Tampa is Bennigans." I'm thinking, yeah, right... I get to my hotel and right next door was Bennigans! SHE WAS RIGHT! I can't go into on here what went on in that place! :thumb:

I agree Florida must be tough, not kidding I am glad it is you and not I. :D It is about 60 degrees cooler here and absolutely beautiful. Just finished an hour walk with dogs, very invigorating. The forest is covered in snow and hoar frost, the sky is pink and blue and is it so quiet ahhhhhhhhh. I AM A LUCKY MAN! :)

Bennigans? We have some places to party in Tampa, but I wouldn't call Bennigans one of them. She clearly doesn't know Tampa. If'n you ever come back, Ybor City is where to party. Sumpin for everyone there. Yes there is!

I don't mind cold and snow. As long as it's only an airplane ride away. I just wouldn't, er maybe, couldn't live in a cold and snowy place again.

Thanks for the info! I'm married now and moved to the Thumb (Caseville, MI) so I don't think I'm going anywhere ever again!

I remember when 28g 3-5 wrap was the cloud chaser go to build. Not even 2 years ago. Still a stellar build at 15-20w lol. All about the heat and wicking not the ohms and thick wire.

My son hits a DNA 200 at much higher watts and battery life is a major problem for him.

Back to math... Most people getting DNA200 mods don't realize that the 11.1V 3S LiPo's included in most of them have far less power than a single 18650! You have to convert mAH (milliamp hours) to WH (watt hours). When you do that, you see just how under powered those LiPo's really are.

The Wismec Reuleaux DNA200 uses 3x 18650's, and has FAR more watt hours than those LiPo packs. Is your son still in school? This is a perfect application to remind him that some of what you learn in school really is relevant in real life.

Does the radius add any significant features over the p3 feature wise - not power or firm factor related? I like the looks of it and I love the provari boost feature - at a glance I'm not seeing anything too terribly different. Also what amp Does the radius charge vis usb? Hopefully 2 amp or more?

Thanks for the help trying to decide on another provari device or the afore mentioned wismac promoter DNA 200 / possibly Yihi v2 boxer mod.

I don't know if I can call them significant but here's some of the differences.

  • max 40 watts
  • 9.5 amp limit
  • option to manually scroll the menu
  • separate up/down buttons to change power
  • usb charging (.8 amp charger, I think)
  • firmware upgradable via usb (well this one's significant, used it 2x already)
  • only adjustable using watts (not voltage adjustable)
