Not that I know of... Maybe? Don't quote me on this... I THINK the CGRs are the hybrid type. The NCRs are Lithium/Cobalt. The NCR18650PD might be a hybrid type but I'm not sure.
All I did was start with the AW 1600 and check it's results against every other 18650 in the list. There were a...
They're test results can be found here... Battery test-review 18650 comparator
I wouldn't call them junk but I don't think they're as good under load as the ones we're talking about here.
Thanks David! Looks good. AW is certainly no slouch. The fact that the Samsung beat it, even if by a narrow margin, shows that it's a good battery. Now only time will tell if it's able keep it up after N number of charging cycles.
Yea... I think you're right. Seeing them side by side, they definitely look different. Mine and Bots look like the same thing. Yours is still very shiny around the edges. Mine and Bots are actually tarnishing evenly all the way to the edges of the button.
My guess... There may have been a batch of buttons that got plated but weren't plated to spec. I don't know much about the process but it's my understanding that good plating requires the application of several layers... If this is true, I's suspect that ours my have simply received a single...
Lol... I can be a complete ....... too. I just happen to be of the opinion that when people take advantage of and abuse the kindness and generosity of good people, they take away that persons ability to kind and generous in the future.
I simply don't want to be in any way responsible for...
No apology necessary. I am utterly impressed every time I pick up this device. It literally oozes quality. The issue with the button in no way diminishes that. The fact that you're willing to take care of the issue with no grief is all the more impressive.
Yes. That is correct. The button only. The switch itself is perfect.
As for the button, it does appear to be plated but not as well as the 1st one. In either case I don't want anything for nothing. If I am to keep the old switch, I'd like to pay you something for it.
Your offer to send a new...
I can do that, or, if you're amenable to the idea, I'll buy it from you. While it doesn't look too good with the LUX tube, it looks great with my regular brass tubes.
If you need the old button back for trouble shooting and QC purposes, I understand that too.
I did find a ghetto use for ferric chloride... I got lazy one day and ground down some some brass pieces over the toilet in my spare bathroom (told ya... Ghetto) and left the ground brass sitting in the bowl for a couple days without flushing... When I finally did flush, I noticed that the brass...
It's the one from the 2nd order (#6789). The serial number is 0307.
The only reasons it concerns me...
1) The 1st one didn't do that. It kept it original shinny gold color.
2) I've been using it with a GM 18650 brass tube (yes, I slept through the LUX tub sale :(). The button is changing...
I think my button came from the same batch as TroyDestroy's... I don't think gold is supposed to tarnish but this one keeps getting darker and darker...
I only recognize two of the items listed... Ferric chloride and demonized water. I've got to give it to you. You've got big brass ones letting ferric chloride anywhere near those parts. I've seen how quickly it strips copper from printed circuit boards. You obviously know what you're doing, the...
