Thanks, but I've looked at that picture a million times. It doesn't show the gasket or how the heck to install it.
When it came apart it was still partially attached to the glass section. It has a lip on it. I just can't seem to get it back onto the glass, or figure out how else it might go...
While trying to disassemble the tank to change coils, the top fill ports also came apart. There is a white or clear silicone gasket that goes between it and the glass tank.
I cant seem to get it back together. Anyone have some tips for me?
@SLM I'm sure glad you're ok. The rest doesn't really matter. Things like cars can get replaced. Sometimes my knee still hurts from an accident I had in 1981!
Well, it turns out it may not be weeping because of the single coil.
Seems the Kylin has a notorious record of weeping around the 510 pin area. That would explain why I'm only finding juice underneath the tank.
It's a shame too, it was a great little tank until now.
Well, as a followup I just wanted to let you know that it does in fact leak. I tried wicking it again with the same result. It weeps juice very slowly from the air vent. Not much but you would have to pull the tank off the mod every few minutes.
I'm going to try leaving the juice control...
Well, had oral surgery yesterday. Spent the day doped on pain meds. Hopefully I won't need them as often today. I really don't enjoy the fuzzy headed feeling I get. They do help with pain though.
So. Morning and Night all you tree peeps.
Well yesterday I managed to survive doing my yard work on the hottest day of the year so far. It was in the 90's with a "felt like" temp of about 104. I'm not a fan of these temps.
Hi SLM, I just thought I'd let you know how it turned out. I only used the one coil in my Vandy Vapes Kylin and just made sure the Rayon wick covered the whole juice inlet. It works like a champ.
I can totally relate. I worked for K-Mart for about 5 years. Black Friday was enough to leave me with a distaste for the holidays and a strong aversion to go anywhere near a big box type store from Halloween until the end of January.
The cloud beast has two inlets also, one on each side of the deck. One of my problems learning to wick is using too much wick material in the inlet, one wick might make it much easier.
I only bought SS316 Claptons to learn with. So, I ordered some regular good old Kanthal. They're coming from FT...
SLM, I'm betting it will work. Especially if I use Rayon for the wick. I'd just have to not thin the tails so much and the one wick would cover the juice inlet.
I'll give it a shot next time I build one. Have a drop in head in the Smok one for now.
I'm using RTA's. I have a Vandy Vapes Kylin and a Smok Cloud Beast for rebuilding. I'm mainly using Smok tanks with drop in coil heads for the moment.
I also have the new Ares tank from Innokin, but that's a single coil deck. I machined it from MTL to DTl which is my vaping style.
Why would the...
Finally got a great wick going. Using Rayon on my Ares tank that I converted from MTL to DTL with some machine work.
Cotton Bacon is a brand name of organic cotton.
Thanks for the tip on the shower cap. I didn't realize that.
I'm waiting for my dremel like tool to get here to turn it into a slot.
At this rate it might end up being one of my favorite tanks
It's so simple to re-wick and I don't know of a similarly built DTL tank.
