Just got my FT Ithaka clone (Tobecco?) yesterday. Great fit and finish on this one. I haven't had any of the issues others have reported except for the o-rings around the tank being visible when assembled.
I disassembled and re-assembled their stock setup (metered out to 1.5-ohm) and it was...
Perhaps the positive pin is pushed too far down in the 510 connector? I've had luck using a small paperclip to pry it up ->GENTLY<- in some of my Ego batteries and get it to connect to some fiddly attachments before.
Quick video:
I concur with the above. This happens quite a bit with my AGA-T2's and I just give the positive post capture nut a wee twist and the ohms stabilize back to where they should be. Usually.
Next thing you know you'll be wishing the 10-second timer on your PV was 5 seconds longer so your lung inhale could have just a little more to it... :vapor:
It's definitely about finding what works. Glad you found it!
Don't forget the third major type of RBA being the bottom-coil tank such as the Kayfun, Ithaka, Russian, Taifun, Fogger etc. Kind of like a protank on steroids.
:-)
Fasttech Ithaka should be in the mailbox in the next hour. I keep watching the street looking for the mail truck. My Saturday is going to be totally unproductive.
Cotton is great since it's so cheap. I hit up CVS for some of these:
CVS Cotton Balls
I can probably get about 10 "wicks" out of each cotton ball. There are 130 in there. That's 1300 wicks. For $3.00
Or you can pick up some stainless mesh. McMaster-Carr is the cheapest I've found if...
With a Stainless Steel mesh wick, the idea is that it should truly wick, meaning it will use capillary action to pull the liquid UP the piece of mesh to the coil. Although sometimes, for me, it does help to tilt when nearing the end of the tank.
Cotton doesn't seem to allow for such great...
Todd's review actually made it look more difficult to build to me.
Todds Reviews: AGA-T3 RBA
I'm sure I'll have to pick one up eventually. But as the average price for the AGA-T2 fell steeply over the past 6 months, I'm sure I can wait for this to drop as well.
Usually a hybrid is a mod with the atomizer being a part of the assembly instead of an additional 510-connected device.
The atomizer can screw into the body tube directly, so you could technically swap it out for a different atty that fit the same. But sometimes it's truly integral and...
To expound upon geeve's response, from what I've found the Volts reset when you choose voltage mode because if you had changed your atomizer from, say a 3-ohm carto that can handle 5 volts easily (~8.3 Watts) to a 1.8-ohm carto and it stayed at the same 5 Volts you'd be running ~13.9 Watts and...
I've transitioned away from carto tanks for daily use, but I still have them because they're great for travel. I bought a Valley Vapes pyrex tank and wish I had picked up a few more before they shut down. Supposedly in the next newsletter he's going to announce who he sold the business to, so...
Easiest way to determine if it's a short is to remove the wick from the coil (unscrew it from the coil). Then re-check the resistance of the coil. If it pops up a bit, then it was most likely shorting to the wick (which shorted to the top deck/Negative of the AGA-T2).
That being said, I...
I'm currently using a couple of AGA-T2 and an IGO-W. I hated the AGA-T2's until I started using cotton and microcoils on them. Yes, they still leak if they tip over, but I love that I have a reservoir of liquid available without constant maintenance.
I like the IGO-W because I can change...
I currently own both an Evic and a Vamo V2. For what it's worth I always recommend that someone buy the Vamo over the Evic. The extra Volts and Amps you can get out of a Vamo really make all the difference.
The Vamo also has a quicker Ohmmeter, which is all you truly need to check the...
