Within the thread below, much of the information on the development of the SABOT-DDD can be found. Pages from the past few weeks in particular show the evolution and collaboration between Dan, Drunk, and myself and then finagle69 to put together what I feel is a fine and versatile device for...
For those planning on using the heads stock, I recommend 2.4 ohms, or 3 ohms...if you can find them. I seem to recall Dan linking to Madvapes for the higher ohm heads, but a quick search before work of the Madvapes site was of no help. Madvapes must have the worst search function on the...
Little late night update.
A bit over halfway empty testing 100%VG Boba's Bounty this time using a stock 2.2ohm ARO head in the V5. While not as good a performance as I get out of a head that I've rebuilt with cotton and micro coil, it has worked well. At first, partially because I over filled...
Quick testing update.
After vaping 2/3rds of a tank with the unaltered stock head, I replaced the top wick with cotton. Immediate flavor and vapor boost.
Highly suggest replacing at least the flavor wick with cotton. Aside from better overall performance, this is also makes it easier to...
Wouldn't it be nice if e-cig manufacturers did it this way?
You know, refine and improve until the final version is the best it can be. Beats the heck out of "new and improved, dump the ones we just sold as the latest greatest, but here's the new and better version"
Y'all gonna love what Dan...
Well, I have three BB tanks going. One homemade, with the stem drilled out. A SABOT V2 (slide in version). And since last night late, the V5 SABOT-DDD test atty.
All three perform very, very well. The first two have cotton/micro coil builds and have had several tanks vaped through and have...
Cool is good.l B-)
Personally, I like the idea of a pro made tool if we're only talking a buck or two. The Clovis pin works too.
Thing is we really don't need a tool for each adapter. So quantity needed may come into play with the machine shop?
Great idea on the removal tool Dan. So you're thinking as an option? Or would it be cheap enough to just come with each SABOT-DDD if/when they go to coop?
There is substantially more room in these heads than inside the Diver's ceramic cup. My most common horizontal build is a 30ga 12 wrap micro-coil. You can also run a vertical build, that works very, very well, but is trickier to get right. There is no need for NR legs with a micro coil, and...
That's them. Just stocked up on some 2ohm.
3 packs= years of happy vaping since I rebuild them. They are very high quality heads, with well formed coils and NR legs right out the box though.
Without the flare, I think it would tend to lift the cup edges when tightened down. Peeps have a tendancy to crank that top screw down tight getting the atty or carto into position.
Just playing devils advocate on my phone under the table in a boring meeting:unsure:
May need to add a few a few thousandth's with just a slight taper at the end? Seems to me if the head is loose when mated to the SABOT, then it''ll be loose on a stock stem as well.
One thing I don't care for with the stem is the cruddy chrome job the co on that part only. Have some concern...
Some quick pics of some Scuba mail.
This has been shown earlier, but this weapon is mine:) Stem version.
Top of the stem, and the hole it goes into.
This is the now empty tank with a simulated SABOT DDD, no stem version. Never been able to vape down the entire tank with the...
Either one will use the same heads. Just a matter of deciding which works best. There are three of us overdosing on nic putting em through the paces as we speak. I can say this, based on my observations so far, either one is a winner. :vapor:
