    I just built another dual coil to test it out.. My coils aren't heating evenly still.. the bottom one fires up nicely and yet the top one just barely glows at all, it does eventually glow, but that's normally way after the bottom one is finished glowing. any idea why this is?

    I took the cotton out and dry burnt it a bit, it turns out the bottom coil is heatin up much faster than the top one. But they both glow inside out, but just not at the same time. It could be me tasting cotton, it's not a very strong taste like a burning or metallic taste but its still enough...

    I didn't have too much trouble rebuilding it with two coils, just the coils touching could be a problem. I have plenty of cotton and kanthal so I guess this is going to be trial and error.

    Yeah I always try it on low then slowly increase.. I don't have any tweezers but I made sure the coils were tight before I put them in, I made sure they glow evenly. I really don't think there was a possibility for hot spots, if there were hotspots, wouldn't the rubber seal at by the center pin...
