    That might be it. Not old, but Zenesis-ified. The switch design in that particular mod kinda makes the bottoms of the batteries a bit concave - I looked just now and it's true.

    Sorry - springs = screws. The 0.8 was with the button pressed. I don't understand anything, but now it vapes normally and measures 4.1 V - I randomly threw an extra washer in the switch and it works now. Doesn't make sense still - it has been working for about maybe 7 months with no issue...
