I'm running a single coil twisted 30g, with 6 wraps around a 5/64" drill bit for 0.9 ohm. Took off the AFC ring and plugged the off-side air hole at its top with a piece of toothpick. It's wicked with KGD cotton, tails lying on the bottom of the well, no nest.
Flavor is outstanding-- best ever!
I rewicked yesterday morning and will do it again tomorrow morning. That'd be about 10mL of juice vaped.
No biggie... takes 10 minutes to do a thorough job of it, dry burning the coil, rinsing and drying the parts, etc.
The first thing I would think of is a failure of sealing, such as:
-chimney tube to base
-chimney tube to chimney cap
-chimney cap to top cap (missing, bad or incorrect sized o-ring)
I've been happy with my EHPro's performance and consistency. Seven wraps of 28g Kanthal around a 5/64" drill...
Good to hear; I like to see comments from actual users before buying the higher-priced stuff.
(really hate having the "Oh crap-- that was a waste of money!" reaction)
Thinking about putting this cap on the current Rainbow Heaven/Spectrum nano (which only holds 2mL):
Matte Grey...
I've been using a cheap pair of embroidery scissors for wicks. I sharpened the blades so they cut cleanly, but the finger holes are girl-sized.
These look better:

I've gotten a bad taste from mine when sooty juice has drained back into the tank from the juice deck, but that's only happened with NET liquids.
Have you noticed the juice changing color in the tank?
Do you have the air flow control set for a tight draw?
Are there spaces between the turns of...
I can think of a few changes:
'Through-bolt' arrangement like the Erlkonigin to facilitate using glass tanks
Larger center pin and inlet passages for better air flow
Adjustable contact on center pin
Shorter post deck to reduce distance to the juice deck
Less headroom above the coil to reduce...
I've only run one vertical coil so far but I used more cotton and pretty much filled the chimney with KGD, up to the top end of the coil (but no farther). You can do that of course since all the air flow is through the coil's center. Worked fine for two days but I went back to a horizontal for...
I suppose the coil wick is drawing juice from the nest which is very close to the coil ends. In between draws, the wick pulls juice from the deck and some of it is stored in the nest. The nest is acting as a reservoir.
I've done that one too, it helps if you have trouble with popping and spitting.
Just have to make sure the shoulders of the wick aren't compressed and the airflow isn't choked off.
Edit: I've also been using ECF member crxess's cotton nest wick technique
This looks like the best available so far: Science of Vaping V2 Full Size Glass Kit. The center section of the top cap is threaded and screws down over the custom chimney to clamp it together, much like an Erlkonigin RTA.
If you want a colored Pyrex tank for it, see size #26 on this...
What he said.
I always fill from the bottom and never had a leak or flooding. Check the o-ring in the top cap; you should feel some slight resistance when the chimney tip enters into the top cap.
I've been trying to put together an EHPro KFL+V2 nano for my wife, but no luck so far.
I bought the Rainbow Heaven nano glass kit and a Spectrum #25 tank in Teal. The tank fit the rings perfectly when installed with the supplied o-rings, but the atty's chimney was too tall by 1/8" and wouldn't...
