Looking to upgrade from 808 to a larger device.

A wise and comprehensive answer by Kurt! I'll just add a clarification and an additional suggestion. The Echo Kr8-compatible fat batt has an automatic battery, like your current Kr8, but unlike most other fat batts (e.g., eGo, Riva, KGo). And it is an excellent auto batt: completely reliable...

    Larger cartomizer for automatic Volt

I know! I know!:D Any cartomizer with a Kr8 fitting should work just fine. The Echo carto has huge capacity and is, of course, relatively huge in size so it looks a bit weird on the VOLT battery. My favorite cartomizer (of any model) is CigEasy's Kr8-compatible Elite 808, which I recently...

Need some suggestions on juice from the vets.

It's not so much the flavor (e.g., tobacco vs. menthol), but the mixer/manufacturer. In general, US-made (or UK-made) e-liquid is less chemically/perfumy tasting than China-made. [There are, of course, exceptions, e.g., notice mustang's comments above about that China-made "USA Mix" he loves ...

    Automatic eGo battery

I've not used the automatic eGo, but I've not read great things about it. Generally, I recommend manual batteries over automatic primarily because they are sealed, which enables dripping (either into attys or cartos) without removing the atty or carto from the battery. [E-liquid leaking into...

    The Elite 808 from CigEasy

The Elite 808 is my personal favorite right now, but there are others I love as well. Although there are exceptions (e.g., the Leo and GoGo), a PV today should be thought of as two separate components, which can be combined in myriad ways: the battery and the cartomizer (yes, atomizers are an...

The Elite 808 from CigEasy: a GREAT cigarillo-like PV!

I did try, Fabsta, but it wasn't making a good connection (or perhaps there was some other reason; I ain't no techie). I couldn't get it to work. Perhaps someone else would be more successful. I've had little incentive to fiddle with these on other batteries (other than that voltage-lowering...

Alien Vision Signature Dual Coil Cartos

Thanks, Charlie! Have you used any other dual coils? Any reason to think that these are not the Smok Tech Mega Dual Coils sold everywhere else? Alien Visions' $2 ea price is better than most ... although LiteCigUSA's $9/five-pack and Crystal Clear Vaping's $32 for a 15-carto/two-drip-tip...

C.C.V. Mega LR 1.7 (THE RESURRECTOR)

Thanks, jkoppk! These Resurrectors deserve all the attention they can get. When you say "I gotta say I love these dual coils", do you really mean the 1.7 ohm single coils (nicknamed "The Resurrector")? I also love the Resurrecters, although mainly on my 3.2V eGos (on which they hit plenty hard...

The Elite 808 from CigEasy: a GREAT cigarillo-like PV!

The TH is superlative, but it is due to the cartomizer. Put it on any 3.7V batt and it is fantastic. I often use the Elite carto (with adapter) on the 3.2V eGo battery to mellow it out just a little bit. Still hits hard.

Which eliquid from which site offers the best bang for the buck?

Thank you, goodtimes! I stopped into this thread to put in my own two cents about some good, moderately priced juice suppliers. Instead I placed an order with NiteLiteVapor (10 ml bottles of each of their tobacco juices). Indeed, very low prices. [And I'm so cheap that I tracked down an ECF2011...

    Joye Ego VS. Volt

Both the Kr8-compatible VOLT and the 510-compatible eGo are excellent PVs. [The term is PV, not VP.;-)] Either can produce great vapor, flavor, and TH ... with the appropriate atty or carto. And you can use blank or prefilled cartomizers on either (except there are very few prefilled cartomizers...

Done with Carts, Cartos, Drip-tips: So...

Well ... you could do it literally, e.g., with NotCigs' The Dripper strapped to the 4000 mAh Helix... ...or with the SuperTManufacturing's VapeMate strapped to its 4000 mAh ShockWave (not yet released). Or – if ~2200 mAh and 6 ml of juice is sufficient – you could get any of the...

vapor but no flavor. is it me? my volt cartos? my filling technique?

Of any e-cig attribute, flavor is the most subjective and individual. It is dependent on the e-liquid, of course, but also on the cartomizer (style, juice-feeding effectiveness, and resistance), battery voltage ... and on the taste buds of the vaper. The VOLT cartos are very popular. It seems...

    PCC case for KR808D-1 threading

That older (but tried and true) metal PCC will charge any Kr8 battery, including the VOLT, Maxx Fusion, and G6. It will even charge the XL batts; you just wouldn't be able to close it. And, of course, it makes a better paperweight than those James Bondian plastic ones.:D

Best Ego Type with 510 atty?

Actually, 3.7V is not necessarily any better than 3.2V. It depends on the atomizer/cartomizer resistance, the e-liquid, and the preferences of the individual vaper. For example, I think the Smok Tech 1.7V Single Coil carto is especially effective on the 3.2V eGo. And I'm not alone in this...

Best Ego Type with 510 atty?

"Better" is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the Riva-510. It is exactly the same size as the eGo (and fully compatible with all eGo attys, cartos, tanks, and accessories), but is higher voltage (3.7V vs. 3.2V) and mAh (750 vs. 650) and less expensive (e.g., you can get a full kit from...

Which e-cig and what accessories do i need to get the best taste and most vapor?

If you wanted a skinny e-cig the size of a cigarette and/or the simplicity and convenience of prefilled cartomizers, I'd suggest the Kr8 model, specifically the Smokeless Image VOLT. When you are out and about (away from a wall outlet or USB port), you will need a PCC for it, thus my link to the...

Did I make a mistake getting Volt cartos.

They work ... but the VOLT and Maxx Fusion (and probably Halo G6) cartomizers are intended for use on the regulated 3.6V batteries they are sold with. I believe that the burnt taste is due to using them on unregulated "3.7V" batteries, which start out as high as 4.2V fully charged. Try them on a...

    moving up from an ego

You don't necessarily need to change your battery to get more TH. On the 3.2V eGo, I prefer the Smok Tech 1.7 ohm Mega Single Coil cartomizers over the dual coils (which are not really 1.5 ohms). I think that Crystal Clear Vaping's nickname for it - "The Resurrector" - is apt: it brings new life...

    Best KR808D for beginners

Because of its good 3.7V, relatively high mAh, automatic battery - and ready availability of many different flavored, prefilled cartomizers - the Kr8 is indeed an excellent choice for a newbie. It is simple, convenient, and...[wait for it!]...looks like a cigarette! The advantages of the...
