Welcome Marob! Glad to hear you are enjoying your Orion and this thread has been helpful to you.
Wrt the I love my Orion thread, not sure why admin closed it. Blondie had no affiliation with Les, just a happy customer. Kinda worried this one would meet the same fate. Thankful it has not. ;)
Wrt dings/scratches, I try really hard till the first appears. After the initial upset I'm over it. I bought it to use and hard used it has been F
for the past year. I didn't buy it to polish and grace the mantle. ;-)
I did put a stainless tank on it early in. Les told me I'm bomb proof now. :D
kim151- shorts will blacken the innards quickly. Tighten the positive nut to compress the spring and get a better connection. Two threads showing above the nut should do it.
Vapor: is you air inlet lined up with the wick? Are you wrapping your coil high on the mesh?
nj1001- I'm fond of 1.3 ohm, .17 mm twisted kanthal, 4/3 wrap. Still my fave after a year of the Orion. The twisted wire produces more depth of flavor and the vapor feels like it has more body, richer. I too like shorter, quicker draws. YMMV. :)
Never had a wicking issue. Have you tried a more standard wick, not too thin or thick? When you pulled out the first wick, it seemed quite loose. The only issue I had was shorting on the washers. I got rid of them and problem resolved.
Hope someone has better observations for you.
Horses for courses, not every atty is perfect for everyone. I wish I only had one regretful purchase. :P
BliSS rocks the best flavor of any atty I have tried including many highly sought after models. My #1 criteria is flavor, the rest I can tweak in the build. The chamber design, size, &...
Mike K,
1-multimeter to test ohms.
2-this is a 3.7V device. Les is quite clear what batteries to use. To use what you are suggesting, you risk damage to the device and possible bodily injury.
Roly, I found your usage of 'Electronic' unclear. Do you mean only devices with electronics on board? Many seasoned gen heads prefer mechanical devices for obvious reasons. IMO, anyone recharging batts is foolish to not own/understand/use regularly a multimeter. Then there is that vendor...
Love Todd's reviews. He compares it to a hellfire and I read someone called it a HF killer. I would have to agree. Better made and much easier to get, it's all good for us. :)
Cid, regular size ( off Siam website) is what you want. The XL will not make two. ;-) They are OOS as is Clouds of Vapor. You'd have to cut them down, but they are very nice. Makes your Orion bomb proof.
A 6ml Boston round juice bottle works in a pinch too.
