There is some postulation that twisted wire carries more liquid and adds wicking. I'm no scientist but it seems plausable. An easy test would be wrap 2 wires in parallel as Scientist & Voirel do on their uber tiny RAs. -

I think Griz runs a fatter wick. I twisted pretty tightly as he did. Obviously the terminal wires use a bit more wire than screw posts. I also do not know if kanthal has a standard ohm for each ga. Time to pay more attention. ;-) Flavor is off the charts good! Vapor is not as much as straight... -

.15 twisted kanthal, 6/5 wrap, 1.4 ohm. Flavor & vapor is better straight away. Just 10 minutes in so it will just get better. Downside is the number of wraps. On certain devices, this could be a problem. -

Update on the 4 ply cabled .10 kanthal coil. Now it has broken in, the flavor is quite good. Vapor production is great with my 1-2 second draw. Not sure I'll oft be arsed to cable a wire but it's not a bust. If anyone wants to try some, I'd be happy to post for a couple $. I think I got 10... -

Ok peeps. Let's play nice. We were all noobs at one time or another. Orion is the hardest to set up by many opinion. If some need a trick here or there to either learn to tame the beast, or just to enjoy, where is the harm? I do agree FOR MYSELF, Jack Frost, no quench (except for top tanks)... -

IMO .10 is too fine. Twisted coil was too whimpy. I doubled it back and made a cable. No surprise it is very similar to .20 twisted. I have a 3/2 coil @ 1.5 ohm. Lots of vapor with 1 second draw. Flavor is slightly better too. .15 tomorrow. I'll vape this the rest of the day. -

That's interesting because last year when he released the Orion, he was trying to get peeps to try it. It certainly is a different vape from single wire. -

Will do! On china attys, I didn't like below 2.0 and 2.2 was my sweet spot. Since going genni, I'm amazed I am vaping much lower. Currently still on the .20 kanthal twisted, 5/4, 1.0 ohm. The flavor is not as brilliant but with the twist, the vape is mellow. Kinda hard to describe. -

Lots of good suggestions here. If your sure your oxidized, try twisted coil. Much more robust. Also don't use a fresh batt when your setting up! :) I got my .10 & .15 kanthal in. Fun weekend of play for me. -

Ob, do your other gennis have isolated wick holes? Orion has more ss plate to go through than most. Oxidation is key. Maybe time to think about drilling and adding nylon shoulder washers? -

A member on VP is working on turning Orion replacement caps. The goal is without integrated mouthpiece. It's in the prototype stage. Hope on the horizon for those who drilled and now regret it. :) -

Just to clarify, the terminals on the V1.0 are copper with silver soldered tips. Van uses silver wire. ;-) I thought I would really prefer the M2 post set up. What I found was the wire is more forgiving and allows very tiny adjustments on the fly. Certainly hard for a genni virgin as I was at... -

Of course modding your Orion is up to you. I think what Les has tried to get across that gets jumbled in the different languages is it is not necessary. Tbh, that is why I did not keep my v2s. Plus my mechanical hits harder IMO. I told Les as much. I think he is working on a mechanical switch. He has to keep things quiet as the plagarists are rampant. I know many love their electronics but to me they are counterintuitive to the genesis... -

I'm a pretty plain vaper. One flavor for the last 13 months with a rare dripping session to wake the buds. It makes it really easy to test new gennis. I try to hang for a full day, not grabbing my Orion. It's usually pretty hard for me and I toss in the towel. :) -
