    Hmm... Plugged in the numbers assuming the 0.511 was the diameter of SS316L 24g, halved it for the radius. Did the same for SteamEngine's numbers for SS316L 22g. The 24g came out at 122 units, the 22g came out at 141 units That's only a 15% increase in surface area - does that seem right?

    OK, I think I've found one: CSG Surface Area Calculator I'm using the cylinder (third one down) So I just need to know the radius of any given gages (AWG). In SteamEngine there's a number to the right of the AWG, for SS316L 24AWG this is 0.511 - is this the diameter of the wire?

    Probably a total noob question but here goes..

    Resistance increases with wire length. As larger ID increases wire length (in terms of wraps), increased ID equals increased resistance. A Mech build of 0.2 Ohms is pushing the edge of safety. If you are new to Mech's I would suggest you don't build down below 0.4 Ohms to start off with.
