I just picked up three pairs of Samsung batteries from my local B&M

I do trust the shop but the writing on the batteries looks a little strange?

Are these 30Q's, some other Samsung battery, or fakes?

@Mooch - your expert advice would be welcome

Thanks guys & girls

They're Samsung 22V's, about 5A rated and not good for vaping above about 15W each or so.

Wow, different from the other 22 series, in the worse way. Thanks!

Wow why would they even carry such low amp batteries?
Probably because they didn't know any better. They probably believed they were purchasing a top quality 18650 Samsung battery from their distributor. As long as its a Samsung, it must be ok (sarcasm).

Just goes to show you, you can't usually trust most B & M shops to know their batteries. I know, I used to work for one. It was appalling just how ignorant most of the sale people were concerning batteries. Luckily, most of them came to me when there was a battery question. We had ICR chemistry batteries in the display case (don't ask me why, they had no business being sold in a vape shop IMHO) and once I was able to stop my store manager from selling one to a mech owner when I just happened to spot the transaction.

Notify the vendor, and provide documentation to prove your point. If they have a conscience, they'll pull those batteries.

Buy your batteries from trusted battery vendors. Even then, don't be shy in questioning the vendor if something doesn't look right, as even they occassionally get duped. Being a trusted vendor, they'll do you right if you make the call.
