    I have never seen the ProVari give an incorrect reading on the atty resistance- I stopped checking frequently a long time ago, but when I did my testing way back when, it was in agreement with my meter and occasionally when I have a hard time believing the ProVari I do check and always find it...

    RE the resistance, Only one carto or do you always see this? It could be just a carto nearing its end of life and that could indeed be the resistance as the coil heats up a bit.... did you put the carto on a meter to check it against what the ProVari says? Re both the carto and the battery...
