    Removing factory connectors

The mini tube cutter is the ONLY way I have found to get the connector out of a 510 (Janty or otherwise). I remove the led cover and disassemble until I get the battery out. Then, I use that mini pipe cutter to cut as close as I possibly can to the brass fitting. You have to be careful not to...

    Ohio vapors?

So far, people have been curious, but hesitant to ask. When I explain what it is, what it does, and that it is a vapor not smoke, they have been cautiously receptive. No one has told me that I can't vape in their home (including the worst antismoker I know - she said "As long as it isn't the...

    Discussing the NicoStick

...and if it does leak (which, by the way, mine does not), there is no finicky automatic switch to get stuck, no ultrasensitive electronic components to malfunction, so where is the problem? My 901s have leaked much more than my 510s, getting half the box wet and sticky. I simply clean it with a...

Official OEM 901/801/401 connector order thread

The 401 connector IS the male 510 connector. I am still:pop: hoping to hear word about the female 510/401 connector (the one from the 401 atty or the 510 battery).

    Mecahincally Declined newbie seeks advice

Perhaps a 510 on a passthrough, hooked to a battery box for portability. The passthrough makes the battery pack more remote - battery weight isn't dangling from your mouth, only the tube and the cord. Excess cord can be run through clothing to help keep it contained. Then your battery pack could...

My "Holey Crap it works" bbox mod

HEY! Another new modder. And this one has improv skills. Way to go. My first mod was nowhere near this pretty, and I still don't have blinging leds in mine. Don't sell yourself short, SS. You had an ambitious plan and you saw it through. Keep rockin' the vape. You've got promise.:D

    801 Connector

Nerf is now selling the fitting that they use in the DSE 801. I think they are $3 each and $2 shipping no matter how many you order. I gave up on the car adapter when I found an inexpensive source for the original.

    Discussing the NicoStick

The Janty Stick and the NicoStick do have striking similarities, but there are a few differences as well. The Janty has USB recharge, the possibility of an automatic switch, and adapters for several models (NicoStick has none of these). The NicoStick has a master kill switch, low price, and...

    Discussing the NicoStick

It would be a very tight fit that would require some very precise drilling. The battery slots on mine measure 5/8". There would be no room for error, but it is possible.

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

Prongs?? I don't see any prongs. Heat-shrink tubing may be an option for holding the diameter where I want it so it doesn't loosen up over time - giving that idea some thought. The venilation holes on the atomizer are already encapsulated in this part by the time I get it to make contact. That...

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

Just the width and the coaxial setup. It doesn't actually touch the threaded portion at all, just the outer edge where the threaded part meets the atomizer body. The threaded portion is actually more like 5.5 or 6mm in diameter.

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

@ mnealtx: incidentally, these look just like the lamp holders for my turn signals on my truck. Maybe you could just "salvage" one from a bombed out car .:D

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

Yes, the bayonet type is the one I linked to. I am having no troubles with it so far, but I did have to crimp it again at the base to keep the atomizer in place with the spring fully depressed and pressing against the atomizer. I am beginning to think the threaded one might work better. I guess...

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

I have a rough prototype now (nothing is glued into place yet). It seems the spring MUST be fully depressed to make contact. I think it may just be the bayonet style though because of the way the bulb is supposed to twist in;).

    WOOHOO! Alternative Connector for 510

This makes it so we can hook up a 510 atomizer to pretty much ANY battery pack we can dream up. The battery mods are basically battery packs attached to the atomizer of the modder's choosing. Until now, we have had to dismantle factory 510 batteries or 401 atomizers to get the threaded part so...
