    Official DNA 40 introduction

he was talking about the common practice of thick kanthal for sub ohms use = high watts... and how thick K gives more surface, holds its shape under high power, keeps resistance "low" so watts are high. interesting video.

    Official DNA 40 introduction

exactly... micro coils (contact coils) get more wire in less space -> also create a surface for more juice to vaporize = more flavor. (that was a theory that makes sense). BUT the oxidizing kanthal is not entirely necessary afaik... kanthal was annealed (torched) yes, but it isn't really...

    Official DNA 40 introduction

I've been using micro contact coils for a couple years straight... mostly thick wire, and tell you the truth; I rarely if ever got hot spots. Sure I'd usually pulse to see it glow before wicking a lot of the time, but I'm so used to it i don't think abou it. - with the Ni200 and contact coil i...

    High End REGULATED MODS !

My favorites for a year now. Achilles and also the Prometey2. Both titanium for lightness and strength. I have 2 of each just because I get best flavor from these compared to dual coil RDA's, and as good if not better than RTA. These are not cloud chasers or "lungers" but if set your voltage...

    Official DNA 40 introduction

I have my dna40 set at 500 degrees; its a single coil atomizer .15 ohms 30g Ni200 about 13 wraps 2mm ID contact coil. From watching the LED the watts fluctuate but peak at about 17w. I have it set at 22w. I like this setting because it seems hot enough for good response, and never seems to over...

    High End REGULATED MODS !

Here's mine next to a 30 box. When you think about it, the DNA40 gives you Temp Control... AND 10 more watts over the 30 so its a bit more than newsworthy and in the Flask to boot! I snagged my Flask40 on Tues last week, purchase confirmed at 4:01. They opened at 4:00.

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/612272-official-dna-40-introduction-16.html#post14413412 check this graph out here ^^^ for one, it calculates what happens when you overshoot your power to your desired temp.

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

Good comments and questions; I'm just learning too... I'm guessing the idea is to find the ideal temp for your particular taste, for your given coil/wick. I've noticed that changing the temp lower (or higher) when i want a cooler or hotter vape, is handy. Given that, do we set the watts at...

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

The Ni200 coils will not glow like kanthal wire builds. From what I've seen on the few video's you will do some interactive regulating up or down in temp. to get the desired vape... so once you dial that in, you're not going to have scorching.

10 wraps dual coil came out to be 1.4 ohm? Incorrect?

what gauge wire? and yeah i hate when that happens... I don't know exactly what the cause or causes could be other than maybe some loose connections at the posts or irregularities in the coil spacing or if compact, not symetrically lined up. Did you make sure its neat and symmetrical and all?

    Catfish atty mods.

It's been a while since i was on this thread as my Magma from way back has held me in good stead... I don't even know what some of these RDA's are... lol, and Sorry for slightly OT, but I'm wondering how low we are taking our Reo's since we're into sub ohms. With good air flow these RDA's'...

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

yes and on another thread they are discussing how to clean gunk off coil, as it is being questioned whether dry burning is advisable with the Ni wire.

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

doh...what am i thinking? yeah with a dual it will halve the resistance... you'd have to make 2x tons of wraps to get up to .10 ohms.

Favorite build for a DNA 30 device?

well single coil dripper tanks like Taifun (?) are not best when going deep sub ohms... but dual coil RDA's with all that air can handle them no problem. as far as DNA devices, I've used sub ohms on them without a problem (other than short batt times)... .7 to 1 ohms seems to be fine with them...

    DNA 40, NR, Nickel Builds

wow ... ^^^ I'd have thought 20 wraps AND on a 3mm ID coil would be plenty! It doesn't seem to jive with what others have posted and demo'ed though....? i.e. I've seen 10wraps of Ni200 on a 1/16th ID coil and they got above .10 ohms and no problems. they were using 30g though.

Confusion about dual Batt Box mods and Amps

'thanks for the info... its all a big maze trying to define the differences and I guess it depends on how well one understands electronics which I am pretty sad when it comes to it. I've got a couple of Raptor 120w boxes, because I was into strictly sub ohms for a year, and they max at 6v, but...

Confusion about dual Batt Box mods and Amps

Parallell sounds like a good way to go... for more batt time (mah) and more amps/watts. What are the benefits of in series batts?

    How to enhance fruit flavors.

hmm I don't vape tobacco flavors either, and the only time I've heard of this OP idea is with Watermelon where adding a small percentage of Raspberry does the trick.

My thoughts about sub-ohm and latest VV/VW devices...

Seems to be the only non boxy dna40 device so far with 2x18650, not much more than 24mm wide, if that, but its curved, like a kidney(?) and feels good in the right hand. I'm somewhat ambidextrous and never paid much attention with my box mods (or tubes), but because there is a concave side...

My thoughts about sub-ohm and latest VV/VW devices...

The only dual coil atomizers I have and use currently are the Origen2 b/f and Magma b/f converted for the Reo Grand. Although Reo's are now sub ohms capable, w/ collapsible safety spring, it will not handle super low sub ohms without issue. I'll have to post this to the Reo threads, but think...
