Li-PO (not Li-Fe-Po) is the way to go. More capacity, lower internal resistance, higher current output.
Sadly they come only in rectangular shapes so retrofitting already existing devices doesn't look too nice.
I'll have have some PCB's shipped next week. Have a look here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/23706-modders-printed-circuit-board-8.html
You got yourself a low discharge rate primary battery. Those are not good for the power hungry atomizers. (1A range).
No biggie.
Either hunt for a high current rate primary battery or wait for the rechargeables.
Nice review!
Just my 2c (been using the exact same model):
Cigars are meant for mouth puffs not inhaling. That's why the original cart produces a nice amount of vapor only on puffing and not when inhaled.
If using it with the original carts (pricey), after a few days it will get...
Sorry folks, I thought I could post the list but in the meantime (after the rechargeable version) was contacted by some people.
Will report back with the list if nothing comes out of this.
Sorry again for not being able to post the whole info.
I have no equipment to measure such low resistances. The Rds of the mosfet is 40microOhms @ 3.5V Vgs (taken from datasheet).
I am comparing it to a good quality 5A platinum plated limiter switch and with every atty, same battery and same juice, the vapor amount is visibly and notably higher...
Indeed, staples they are, the smaller variety.
You can even touch them with different hands and still work actually. I really found a winning combination.
I found myself a new hobby besides PIC microcontrollers: MOSFETs :D
kinabaloo, is it just my impression or are mosfets relly firing the...
Not really. It depends on battery construction too.
There are special batteries rated at 100mAh but can be drained with 2 amps whereas there are 2000mAh batts that can only be drained at 100mAmps (so even fully charged it will not vape at all).
Also draining a batt at currents more than it's...
The toner-photo paper method is working great for me. I am able to do perfect 0.25mm traces. Collecting all unused portions into the ground plane helps a lot.
For sure I can make them cheaper myself. Other then ordering PCB's from China there is not a single place I know of that can make 10 pieces of that under 2$/piece.
Well, I've got mine from Ruyan.
Great small pieces. Done some nicosticks and converted a few between cig models :D
You can never have enough of these adapters.
I order just the black Ultrafires with flames on them. Very good quality. None were DOA. Protections works great but I put my own protection in at 3V (their protection kicks in if shorted or at 2,75V.
Capacity tested almost as advertised BUT only when charged on a good charger. No charger from...
Well, I did it.
You can see here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/33326-touch-sensor-usb-rechargeable-nicostick.html
and here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/31018-usb-rechargeable-nicostick.html
It's 4cm x 1,4cm.
Thanks, this version is completely SMD based but on the old PCB layout.
I can shrink it around 18mm in lenght so a 801 atty can be almost fully inserted.
